About this property

Beddgelert 0.4 miles. This lovely, end-terraced character cottage is located on the edge of the popular village of Beddgelert, with views of the nearby hillsides and the Gwynant Valley, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Formerly two cottages, this wonderful cottage is full of charming attributes, cosy features and lots of character, ideal for couples, friends or a family. This delightful cottage boasts many lovely features throughout, such as slate flooring, exposed ceiling beams, sash windows and oak lintels and exposed stone work, along with modern day comforts and a homely interior. The accommodation extends the whole of the ground floor with the exception of two crog loft bedrooms. You enter into the oldest part of the cottage and straight away will be drawn to the wonderful character and atmosphere of the cottage. A spacious king-size double bedroom boasting high pitched ceilings, exposed beams and stone with an inglenook fireplace. Just outside of this bedroom is the first of two sets of steps up to the twin crog loft bedroom, and moving on the ground floor is the welcoming sitting room with comfy seating arranged in front of the wonderful stone inglenook fireplace with a warming woodburning stove. The sitting room extends through to the kitchen with breakfast table and is fitted with modern units and caters for all your needs, and a second set of stairs, located in the sitting room take you to another twin crog loft bedroom. At the other end of the cottage, a family bathroom completes this gem of a holiday home. To the front is a raised garden area where you can sit back, listen to the Glaslyn River and soak up the views. To the side, there is a natural wooded garden, essentially built into the steep rocky slopes of the hillside but there is a level seating area where you can enjoy a refreshing glass of something at the end of a busy day of discovery. Beddgelert is a delightful village with a good selection of shops, pubs and cafes alongside the river. There are some wonderful wooded walks from the cottage and a whole range of footpaths that surround the village. Be sure to visit the famous grave of Gelert, the faithful hound of the medieval Welsh Prince Llewelyn the Great, which is the centrepiece of the village. Mountain biking is well-catered for locally with a number of centres in the area, including Antur Stiniog at Blaenau Ffestiniog, where some of the best downhill tracks and trails are on offer. Blaenau Ffestiniog is also home to Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Zip World Titan, the longest four person zip line in Europe, Bounce Below and Zip World Caverns, an underground network of trampolines and zip wires. For something a little less strenuous, perhaps a ride on the Welsh Highland Steam Railway which runs through the village taking you to Porthmadog on the coast or to the royal and historic town of Caernarfon with its majestic castle. This lovely cottage provides the perfect base for exploring this part of North Wales.

Beddgelert is a picturesque village in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park at the foot of Mount Snowdon. Beddgelert is a bustling village with arts and craft shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, centred around the Afon Glaslyn river.
