About this property

A delightful Grade II listed semi-detached thatched cottage ideally located in the heart of the pretty Worcestershire village of Bredon's Norton, close to Pershore and Tewkesbury. The pleasant furnishings and wealth of character make this cottage an ideal base for a romantic break in a unspoilt part of the country. As you step inside the cottage the olde-worlde charm is evident with original beams and doors sitting alongside more contemporary furnishings. The cosy sitting room is in the 17th century part of the cottage and makes a great place to sit and relax while the open plan living area is ideal for those summer days as the external doors can be opened so you can enjoy the birdlife in the garden. The open plan area has a very well equipped kitchen and a dining area for a romantic dinner or just sit and relax as you plan the day's activities. Outside the cottage garden provides a great place to unwind and forget the helter-skelter of everyday life. Many lovely walks and cycle rides can be enjoyed from the doorstep of the cottage - head up Bredon Hill, one of England's Marilyns, to Parson's Folly where panoramic views of Malvern Hills, Vale of Evesham and Severn Valley can be enjoyed. Look out for the Elephant Stone too! The Wychavon Way and Shakespeare's Avon Way both pass close by. A range of amenities can be found at Pershore and Tewkesbury, whilst the Regency spa town of Cheltenham is also within easy reach and worthy of a day trip. A unique cottage for a memorable holiday at any time of year.

The thriving village of Bredon's Norton nestles on the western slope of Bredon Hill on the northern edge of the Cotswolds. The village has many timber-framed 'cruck' cottages and a 14th century Manor House where it is reputed that Sir Walter Raleigh was a visitor.

The sound of the church bells and the birdsong in the garden is great for a relaxing stay. It is a beautiful place to stay for a week and comfortable and quite well equipped in the small kitchen. There were just 2 things I would like to negatively comment on. Both the single and the double bed would benefit from new mattresses - the double had a big dent in each side (left and right sides about half way down) and both were not very comfortable. The shower needs mould removing from the sealant round the edge. These things did not detract from the peace and quiet relaxing break that we returned to the cottage for!

Extremely well equipped, and a lovely surprise of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits on arrival. Well placed for exploring the Cotswolds and further afield. We used the train station at Ashchurch, which not only has excellent train links, but also the added bonus of free parking all week. To sit on the patio, surrounded by beautiful scents of the differing plants in the garden was a joy,and the nightly visit from Mr Hedgehog was an added bonus. Only two drawbacks,be very careful of the sharp turn into the drive ( after a day or so I mastered it ) and the internet went down on our third day there ( no doubt I could have contacted the owner, but hey ho,surely we can all do without Facebook etc for a couple of days). Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday, and we will hope to return in a couple of years time. Miss King, you should be very proud of what you offer.
