Uig 6 miles. A pretty whitewashed stone cottage which is situated near the village of Uig. Bothan Aonghais (Angus's Cottage in Gaelic) is ideal for a couple who appreciate the comfort and tasteful decor of this traditional highland home. The cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard offering smart and cosy accommodation. The sitting room has a welcoming woodburning stove, great for those cosy nights in. The bedroom oozes style and comfort with the kitchen and dining area being well-equipped for all those budding chefs. From all the windows there are uninterrupted views to the sea with the Outer Hebrides clearly visible in the distance. The cottage is privately situated and the garden area to the front is enclosed by a stone dyke wall adding to the atmosphere of bygone days. A large raised deck at the front of the cottage is a perfect place for relaxation whilst listening to the birds and soaking up the surrounding, wonderful views. Leaving Bothan Aonghais will be difficult but Skye is a wonderful island to explore with a rugged dramatic coastline and scenery difficult to beat. Why not do the circular tour turning left and following the Trotternish Peninsula, passing the stunning Quirang and onto the iconic Old Man of Storr, with its wonderful pathway up to the pinnacle. Less than an hour away is the capital town of Portree, where you can enjoy a little shopping and a wander around the pretty harbour. From here you can journey on and take in Dunvegan with it world famous Castle and Coral Beaches. Skye has much to offer and this fabulous gem of a cottage, hidden quietly away from it all, will make for the perfect holiday. EPC Rating: Band C

The village of Uig (pronounced "oo-ig"), at the northern tip of Skye, rests on the shores of Loch Snizort. The village boasts two pubs, two shops, a hotel, a filling station and a cafe. Uig Pottery sells a range of high quality pottery produced on-site, while the Skye Brewery sells its own superb real ales from the brewery shop. The bay is one of the most beautiful in Skye, and is home to the ferry crossing to the Western Isles. Wildlife in the area includes golden eagles, sea eagles, pilot whales, seals and dolphins.
