About this property

A most unusual, former warden’s residence nestling within the attractive woodland of Steamer Point Nature Reserve, on the clifftop above Friars Cliff and Highcliffe beaches on the Dorset coast. Ideal for a couple, friends or a family, the cottage is comfortably furnished and equipped with everything you need to spend an enjoyable holiday. There are two comfortable and bright bedrooms, a king-size double and twin, which are sure to provide a good night’s rest after a busy day on the beach. The modern kitchen has a dining area and the superb sitting room has patio doors opening out onto the south facing enclosed garden. This is a sunny spot to relax, enjoy refreshments and take in the sea air with plenty of space for the children to play. Visitors to this charming cottage will be blown away by the location having fantastic views across the sea to the Isle of Wight from the garden, as well as direct access through the garden gate down steps to the shingle and sandy beach, which is dog friendly all year round. Alternatively venture out the front gate and take a gentle stroll through the lovely nature reserve, perhaps to Highcliffe Castle, as a free family pass will be waiting for you on arrival, a real treat! Should you tire of all on offer locally, you can always take a picnic to the nearby New Forest National Park, where wild ponies and cattle roam the secluded forest glades, or visit the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, whilst the delights of Christchurch Harbour and attractions of Bournemouth are all easily accessible. This really is a very special coastal holiday destination to enjoy at any time of the year.

Over 24 acres of clifftop nature reserve, situated between Highcliffe Castle and Friars Cliffe on the western Hampshire coast, on the southern boundaries of the New Forest and East Dorset, near the historic waterside town of Christchurch. The reserve was formerly part of the Highcliffe Castle estate, and was named after a steamer boat which ran aground back in 1830. Created a designated nature reserve in 2005, the area preserves the natural woodland of oak and hazel, providing habitats for many species of flora, animal and birdlife, offering peaceful trails through the trees.
