About this property

This fantastic detached country cottage is set in just under one acre of woodland, on a bridleway at the start of the Sandstone Trail, and at the foot of the Overton Hills on the outskirts of the town of Frodsham. This spacious, contemporary cottage offers a stylish open plan living area, complete with a minstrel’s gallery, vaulted ceiling and double height picture window, allowing the light to flood in. The granite-effect worktop wraps around the kitchen to provide a generous preparation area as well as a triple seat breakfast bar to sit with your drinks and keep the chef company. The dining area overlooks a patio and secluded woodland garden, where you can dine alfresco, or relax after a memorable day exploring this beautiful area. This luxurious cottage has the added benefit of a ground floor double bedroom and shower room, may be suitable for those with limited mobility, as well as two en-suite first floor bedrooms. The owners have arranged for one day passes for two visitors per stay at a nearby spa and leisure hotel, just five minutes’ drive away, where you can use the swimming pool and gym free of charge, or perhaps utilise the spa facilities, bar and restaurant. Additional members of the party can buy further day passes if required. The Frodsham Golf Club is the same distance away and is open to non-members. There are many fabulous walks from your doorstep, numerous cycle routes, several golf courses and leisure facilities, as well as all the delights of Frodsham with its weekly street market. With all of this on hand, this delightful and tranquil retreat is the perfect place for a get-together with friends and family at any time of year.

The market town of Frodsham in Cheshire is located at the foot of Overton Hill, overlooking the River Mersey estuary, just 11 miles from the city centre of Chester. The town, which was mentioned in the Doomesday Book, has a thriving centre which enjoys a weekly market on the high street, along with numerous specialist shops, popular pubs and wine bars. Just outside the Bears Paw pub in the centre of Frodsham marks the start of the Sandstone Trail.

Many thanks for the welcome gifts. Although the property sleeps 6 in 3 double rooms, there were only 3 of us using all 3 rooms for this rental. Only minor irritation was my 6'1" husband kept banging his head on the ceiling, when he stood up near the bed in the room with the sloped ceiling. Just something to bear in mind for future guests. Minor issues - I found the slimline dishwasher too small even for the 3 of us, if 6 people were staying it would be more of a nuisance, especially if cooking a 3 course meal. Plus there were no large bowls for soup/cereal, which was a surprise. Finally the non stick fry pan has seen better days, a replacement would be a plus! Overall we would definitely return, as the property is ideally situated for visiting our family in Warrington.

This fabulous lodge is very clean and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay.

This property is incredibly spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The owners are unobtrusive but on hand should any issues arise. We will definitely be returning. Thank you
