About this property

This superb detached timber-clad lodge is modern and very stylish in design situated with its own garden next to the owners’ home and adjacent to their Shepherd’s Hut, Tynewydd Cwt which is also separately available for holiday let. The property is located on the edge of the pretty village of Penybont, just 5 miles from the well-known Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells. This beautiful cottage enjoys the peace, quiet and wildlife of the surrounding area and provides the perfect base for a couple looking for a romantic break away. This delightful cottage offers spacious, well-appointed accommodation and beautifully matched and co-ordinated pieces have been carefully sourced to compliment the blend of neutral tones and warming colours, creating the perfect ambience for a romantic and relaxing retreat. From the cosy cream woodburner and glass bevelled edged hearth to the wood flooring and oak bedroom furniture, this cottage oozes warmth and charm, all of which won't disappoint. The open plan living accommodation is spacious with a comfy sitting area and a warm and welcoming woodburner. There is also a dining area for that romantic candle lit supper or leisurely breakfast, and a well-appointed, fitted kitchen area. The bedroom is dreamy and stylish with a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom. Outside, through patio doors, step onto the decked area which houses a wonderful hot tub. Indulge and relax, whilst soaking up the views and the peace and quiet, whilst enjoying a glass of something cold of course, or switch on the jets for that Jacuzzi experience! The perfect way to round off a busy day spent exploring. The garden area with table and chairs lends itself to alfresco dining or somewhere to just hideaway and finish that book! Located in the beautiful Welsh countryside on the edge of the village of Penybont, which is famous for its popular garden centre Midway Plants and Nurseries. The village also has a popular 18th century coaching inn, The Severn Arms and the Thomas shop, which is a restored shop, museum, tea rooms and gallery, all well worth a visit. The cottage is ideally placed to explore the area, the stunning Cambrian Mountains and the Elan Valley with its Victorian dams and wildlife rich countryside. Walking, cycling, horse riding and birdwatching can be enjoyed in the area, and just 10 miles away is the quaint market town of Rhayader, which is situated on the banks of the River Wye, and is home to the red kite rehabilitation centre and feeding stations, where these beautiful birds can be seen up close. You could make a day of it and even take the opportunity to visit the historic spa town of Llandrindod Wells, with its pretty parks and local lakes. There are many pretty country villages surrounding this area, including Abbey-Cwm-Hir, St Harmon and Pant-y-Dwr, where local agricultural shows are held annually. Builth Wells, another lovely town and home of the Royal Welsh Show held in July, is also well worth a visit. Slightly further afield, the Shropshire Hills AONB opens up at the popular market town of Knighton, offering beautiful walks along Offa’s Dyke or Glyndwr’s Way or visit the famous town of books, Hay-on-Wye. This attractive cottage is just perfect for couples and is ideal for a relaxing, romantic break all year round. Note that this property can be booked alongside Ty Newydd Cwt, Ref. 1039423, together sleeping four adult guests.

The village of Penybont is situated amid beautiful wooded hills in Mid Wales. Wonderful walking is on offer practically from the village itself, with trails and paths meandering their way through woodland and along rivers, or for more challenging terrain, simply drive the short distance to the nearby Cambrian Mountains or the spectacular Brecon Beacons.
