About this property

Tucked away in one of the little side lanes in the conservation area of the attractive Dorset waterside town of Wareham is this tastefully-furnished and very well-presented, semi-detached cottage. This lovely cottage is just a short stroll from the quayside and all the amenities on offer in this pretty market town are ideal for a relaxing break. Inside this delightful cottage there is a well-equipped kitchen, where you can try out your culinary skills, served up in the bright dining area of the lounge. There is also a woodburner in the lounge, a great place to snuggle up on a cooler evening watching your favorite film! Upstairs there are three comfortable bedrooms, offering calming decor which will soothe you to a restful sleep, together with a family bathroom. Outside you can sit on the enclosed and private raised patio and enjoy a coffee while you plan your days adventures. On sunny days take a short stroll down to the quayside, a lovely place to watch the boats or take a boat trip further afield. Alternatively, simply just relax and enjoy refreshments, and on summer evenings there are regular events taking place with bands and fireworks to entertain you. Within easy reach you can explore the lovely unspoilt Arne peninsula, an RSPB Reserve, where wild deer freely roam. Why not enjoy an historical experience at Corfe Castle, where cream teas abound, and you can take a nostalgic steam engine ride to the family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage, not to be missed? Further afield, take a leisurely drive through the Purbeck Hills and marvel at the stunning Jurassic Coast, with Lulworth Cove, DurdleDoor and Kimmeridge Bay all easily accessible. This is a real gem of a holiday cottage, situated in one of Dorset’s finest historical towns.

Wareham, affectionately known as the ‘Gateway To The Purbecks’ is an ancient Dorset waterside market town. Situated between the River Frome and quaintly named River Piddle, its charming riverside location makes the town a popular holiday destination. Dating back to Saxon times, the town was once surrounded by walls, and became an important port with boats bringing supplies up the River Frome from nearby Poole harbour.

Would definitely recommend and stay there again!

The house was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet, made for a very relaxing stay, thank you.

It is a nice house that is in a great location: close to the centre of town but on a quiet street. The owner was great to deal with and accommodated all our needs. The only negative was that Skyes Cottages was often hard to get ahold of: no email and rarely answered telephone.
