About this property

The Gorebridge House is located just 9 miles from Edinburgh in 30 acres of stunning natural Scottish countryside. In the shadow of the Pentland Hills, it offers guests the luxury and serenity of a country retreat with the advantage of good transport links to the capital - only 30 mins away by car.

Ideally suited to large group bookings, whether for a family party, office function stag or hen do, the house sleeps 22 in the eight main bedrooms on the first floor, with space for an additional 12 guests in three more bedrooms located on the lower ground floor. More than enough space for guests to enjoy a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

We are located 9 miles from Edinburgh, with all the delights the city has to offer. If guests do not want to drive into the city centre, there is a convenient park and ride service 5 miles from us.

In the more immediate vacinity, we have the villages of Bonnyrigg, Dalkeith and Newton-Grange. All offering the local pubs, restaurants and amenities associated with village life. Including the Sun Inn, an award winning gastro-pub which serves excellent food and delicious beers and wines.

Gorebridge is our nearest village with small village shop and pub, is near enough for guests to get to without the use of a car if the mood strikes.

The local area is full of things to do, for the more active, mountain biking and walking can be found in the near by Pentland hills, we have an excellent shoot about 10 minutes away by car and of course, the Scottish Mining Museum, which speaks for itself - and is very popular with our younger guests.

30 of us met up for a weekend in Gorebridge House. All guests were impressed with the setting of the house. Inside our stay was made comfortable by a very attentive on site manager. The owner David was extremely helpful with his suggestions. Overall a fabulous weekend of relaxation.

I booked Gorebridge House for a surprise 30th Birthday celebration weekend for my daughter and 34 friends. The location is only about 30 minutes from Edinburgh centre so was perfect for people coming in on trains from different parts of the country. It was everything we could have wanted, huge reception hall, an enormous living/dining room for the party on the Friday which also housed a grand table setting for a formal dinner party on the Saturday. The kitchen is huge and well stocked with all the equipment we needed. The hot tub was a nice bonus after the Saturday afternoon Sports Day challenge held in the beautiful grounds. The owner David, could not have been more helpful, someone was on hand 24/7 to resolve any problems we might have (which were tiny I might add) Everyone drove away on the Sunday morning with the biggest smile on their faces with memories that will last forever. Can't wait to think of a reason to go back.
