The kitchen area with additional food preparation table is in the corner of this room and has all you need to rustle up a wholesome meal. Once prepared, the whole party can retire to the dining room to sit and chat over dinner. Stairs from the sitting room lead to two large king-size bedrooms and there are two single beds on the landing which are perfect for younger guests. The front enclosed garden has stunning open views over the surrounding countryside; what better way to round off the day than enjoying this peaceful setting. Why not spend your time exploring the stunning local area with its spectacular walking and cycling routes right on your doorstep? Just short drives away are a fabulous range of places to visit such as Cragside House and Gardens at Rothbury; Alnwick Castle and Gardens; the Heritage Coastline and Hadrian’s Wall. A day trip to Kielder Water and its observatory may also be of interest. The Hemmel is the perfect cottage for that relaxing countryside break.

Holystone lies just within the Northumberland National Park on the north bank of the River Coquet. Nearby Lady’s Well has an ornate pool and natural spring and is one of the most tranquil places in Northumberland.
