About this property

This traditional, stone-built, semi-detached cottage is set in an elevated, rural location, just five miles from Harlech and five miles from Porthmadog in the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. Offering stunning panoramic views of the countryside down to the Tremadog Bay estuary, this charming Llandecwyn cottage is full of charm and character, with a welcoming woodburning stove and pretty, enclosed gardens. This cosy Llandecwyn cottage is an absolute delight with a comfy sitting room which enjoys superb views over the gardens down to the estuary, where you can watch the changing tides all day long. The kitchen is well equipped, with a breakfast table for further dining options, and upstairs are the bathroom and the bedrooms, both benefiting from far-reaching views. With Harlech and Porthmadog within five miles, this is an ideal touring base, but would equally suit walkers, writers, artists or outdoor enthusiasts due to its tranquil location, and with a small lake only 300 yards away, fishermen also benefit from its enviable position. A superb Llandecwyn cottage for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday all year round. Note: This cottage is next door to Ref 930206, together they sleep 6.

The scattered countryside hamlet of Llandecwyn is set in the middle of beautiful scenery, with mountains, lakes, hills and farmland all around. The views are beautiful. We chose it because you can go to the beach, have wonderful walks in nature , are near to Snowdonia, and take great steam train rides. Our 2 children - 11 and 14 - love it as much as is

Linen and towels all clean but general dusting and cleaning could have been better. Nothing was bad enough that we wouldn't stay again, if still not sold. Lovely surroundings and walks available straight from the doorstep. Road leading to property is tight but no problems to confident drivers, very similar to most rural roads in area.

The house was equipped with everything we needed and the beds were super comfy. The dishwasher was apparently requiring a small repair and the owners contacted us to let us know they had arranged for a handyman to pop round. As there was only three of us and we spent most of the holiday out and about, not having a dishwasher was hardly an inconvenience, but we appreciated the contact. In response to other reviews; yes: the lanes leading up to the property are narrow but there are plenty of passing places, most cars these days have a reverse gear, and you’re more likely to be hindered by sheep in the lane than vehicles! Yes: there are insects, birds and sheep… it’s a rural location. The views over the estuary are stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would recommend Groes Newydd as a great base from which to explore North Wales.
