    Mrs Kath Hovell, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
"The property is very Downton Abbey and the owner was lovely. Can't fault it and would love to go back soon. It was perfect in every way. Felt like home from home."
    Ms Sophie Riise, Penicuik,
"Castleton House is a stunning property which holds an abundance of character. Great for large groups of all ages."
    Mrs Ann Carson, Dunfermline,
"It was our second visit to Castleton. It was lovely to get the family all together for the weekend, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. There was plenty to do and plenty of space to do it in."
    Mr Stan Mahaffey, JONESBORO,
"Outstanding!!! The owner met us at the door with a tour of the property and info on the local area. The location is secluded and off of the road. Plenty of places to be alone or share a great time with friends or family. Centrally located for all the golf our group wanted to play! Could not have worked better for us. We have already recommended this to others!"
    Mr John Harris, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire
"There was ample space indoor and outdoor for the children and dogs. Every bedroom was large and ensuite. Plenty of activities provided, table tennis, table fooball, snooker, board games and jigsaws. The good sized flat lawn enabled us to play badminton, football, cricket and rounders. Full range of domestic utilities. The owner very friendly and helpful."
    Mr Stephen Holt, Surbiton, Surrey
"A fantastic property for a group that can fill it. We got excellent weather, and spent lots of time outside, but even if the weather had been poor, the house and all its facilities would have ensured we had a great time. It's like having a small hotel all to yourself, which isn't too surprising as that's what the property used to be. The fact it's dog friendly was an added bonus."
    Mr David Salt, Harpenden, Hertfordshire
"Castleton House is a fantastic house especially for a large party (we were 10 in total plus 3 dogs). All the bedrooms were enormous with lovely furnishings in keeping with the house and spacious en suite bathrooms. The roomy living accommodation meant that we were never on top of each other and with plenty of entertainment from the billiard room, table tennis and board games, we were never short of things to keep us amused. The house was everything we had hoped for and more, a really enormous place with delightful furnishings and within easy reach of some interesting and beautiful places to visit from lovely beaches to historic houses; Angus has it all!"
    Mrs Helen Murphy, Cwmbran, Torfaen
"Wonderful size property with lots of room to spread out. Lovely features such as original fire places, sash windows and a wonderful staircase. Billiard room kept many occupied in the evenings whilst others enjoyed the peace of the drawing room. All bedrooms have their own en-suite (baths with showers over), these are spacious and all in our party of 10 slept well. As there is no pub within walking distance, the Bar had plenty of use, it's generously equipped with plenty of fridge space. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of areas for kids to play and explore. We used the external caterers recommended the owner for a 50th Birthday celebration. We would highly recommend these to anyone looking to have a special meal during their stay."
    Mrs Ray Walker, Inverurie,
"The house is in a very quiet and spacious area with plenty of room for car parking, and the children spent a lot of time wandering about the large garden area. The house is also spacious with nooks and crannies and secret staircases which was also great for the children. The adults enjoyed the comfortable chairs in the many sitting rooms and the dining room set for 12 was super for all eating together. We all used the table tennis and the pool table and spent many evenings playing cards. There is plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. The décor is olde worldly and comfortable. The kitchen was large and plenty of utensils."
    Mrs Ann Carson, Dunfermline,
"It was very spacious with plenty of public rooms and all bedrooms were en-suite. Excellent central heating system. Lots of things to keep everyone amused - snooker, table tennis and plenty of board games. It was a family weekend to celebrate my husbands birthday and a great time was had by all."
Miss Helen Wilson, South Shields, Tyne and Wear
"Impressive building with loads of room for 5 adults, 3 kids and a dog. It was so big we had to ring a gong for dinner so everyone could hear around the house. Perfect place for exploring. Amazing house, none of us wanted to leave."
    Mrs Angie Arnott, Kirkcaldy, Fife
"The house was amazing. The house is huge and well decorated and furnished, we felt at home instantly. The bedrooms are very spacious with a shower and bath in each, and the beds are very comfortable. The living areas are ideal. The main living room has enough very comfortable sofas and chairs to seat 12 with just a coal fire, perfect peace. The kitchen was well equipped, and had more than enough space for helpers when it come to the cooking! "
    Mrs McGregor, Peterculter, Aberdeenshire
"Very comfortable house in a nice spot, with plenty of activities to keep the family entertained."
    Mrs Wowk, St. Andrews, Fife
"A great property especially for large family parties and many different areas for relaxation. Definite plus was the snooker room which everyone really enjoyed!"
    Mrs Winning, Burntisland, Fife
"The location was nice and quiet and the property itself was lovely and spacious."
