About this property

Greenbank Farmhouse is a traditional Lakeland 1830s farmhouse which has been completey modernised and renovated. This luxury 4* Gold conversion is located in Troutbeck, 5 miles north of Ullswater, one of the most sought after locations in the Lake District. Greenbank Farmhouse retains traditional features including beams and sandstone flagged floors and can be rented with the other 2 adjoining properties to sleep a total of 16 people.

Greenbank Farm is no longer a working farm and now comprises three holiday cottages, recently converted and extended to provide spacious, contemporary style accommodation of the highest standard. Winning the Visit Britain 4 star Gold award, Greenbank Farmhouse sleeps up to 6, 4 star Gold Beckwood sleeps up to 8 and Glen Cottage sleeps 2. The owner has used her wealth of experience of the self catering market to provide everything you could wish for in a holiday cottage. Together with superb views to Blencathra to the north, Great Mell Fell to the south and within 5 miles of Ullswater, this makes these cottages highly sought after by the discerning Lake District enthusiast.

The cottages sit within 14 acres of grounds adjacent to Rookin House Farm Activity Centre, where an enjoyable afternoon can be spent pony trekking, or for those feeling more energetic cycling opportunities lead from your door to Ullswater 5 miles south.

With easy access both to the M6 and the A66, Penrith is 10 minutes, Keswick 15 minutes or a 30 minute scenic route alongside the lake and over Kirkstone Pass will bring you to Ambleside. All making this an ideal location to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the surrounding countryside or to explore the northern lakes.

Greenbank Farm is ideal for family groups as it can accommodate up to 16 people (no single sex parties) in 3 spacious, well appointed, self contained cottages - each imaginatively and individually designed to create maximum comfort and enjoyment. All have under floor heating throughout and slate and polished oak floors and satellite based Wi-Fi.

Helen is very friendly and accommodating. We love Greenbank farmhouse, we have stayed once before. It is immaculately presented with everything you need. It has great views of Blencathra from the windows at the back of the property and your close enough to the a66 to get to wherever you need to go, but its located in a nice tranquil spot so its lovely and peaceful. We loved waking up to the lovely views and feeling like after being out all day walking, we could go back to a bit of luxury.

This lovely cottage is presented beautifully and provides a contemporary touch to a classical property. The owner has made every effort to ensure comfort and a touch of luxury and the views from the lounge across the pretty cottage garden are wonderfully relaxing. Only minutes from the main route between Penrith and Keswick make it accessible and yet right on the edge of beautiful fells and the northern lakes. Definitely recommended.

This cottage has everything you will need, it even has a dishwasher, the underfloor heating is so controllable throughout the cottage, it also has a large screen t.v. Not so important but a nice touch. The real reason we rented this cottage was the stunning location . We could'nt fault anything
