About this property

Presented in association with Trinity House, Trevose Head Lighthouse lies on a headland between sandy beaches, four miles west of Padstow. Verity Cottage is one of four delightful cottages on this private site, sheltered beneath the headland.

In association with Trinity House, we are pleased to present Verity Cottage at Trevose Head Lighthouse.

Verity is one of four holiday cottages available at the lighthouse which is located on a headland between the sandy beaches of Harlyn and Constantine Bays, four miles west of Padstow. The Lighthouse was built in 1847, electrified in 1973 and automated in 1995. The site is not open to the public and the four cottages are sheltered beneath a headland 75' above the sea, accessed via a one-mile-long private road. Fine views out to sea and the chance to watch the fishing boats coming in and out of Padstow.

The cottages are semi-detached, with the lighthouse positioned in the middle. At the front, there is a communal tarmac forecourt with parking. To the rear, on the sea side, there is a shared, walled, grass area which is fenced at the cliff edge. (In the interest of safety, it is recommended that guests do not use this space). The South West Coast path runs round the headland and on towards Padstow.

Also on this site is Brook Cottage, sleeping four guests, Pelorus Cottage, sleeping four guests and Nimbus Cottage, sleeping four guests.

Additional Information:

Two travel cots and highchairs are available on request (shared between the four cottages).

The lighthouse does not have a fog signal.

A well refurbished cottage that was stylishly decorated and equipped. It was clean and a very pleasant place to stay. The road from St Merryn is narrow and at peak times, frequent stopping is necessary to allow other cars to pass. There seems to be no mobile signal at all and the internet is sporadic. Overall, it us a great place to get away from it all, with the Southwest Coastal Path and nearby beaches providing plenty of active opportunities. One negative, also mentioned by other people who have stayed, is that the furniture in the sitting room is pretty uncomfortable for any extended periods of sitting. A supply of cushions would help, or better still, replacements would improve the experience.

it was clean, well looked after, delightful setting, unfortunately i was taken ill and could not take time to explore but rural retreats were extremely helpful as always. This is my sixth house taken for holidays all of which have been delightful, clean, and tidy and i will continue to support Rural Retreats, in fact I have already booked my next house for 2023

A lovely, comfortable, clean and spacious cottage. Located in a unique setting and a great location for costal walks and local beaches.
