About this property

A spacious third floor apartment, accessed by a lift, with sea views and a private-gated short walk to the beautiful beach of Duporth in Cornwall. This luxurious apartment is within a mile of the charming village of Charlestown and is ideal for visiting The Eden Project. As you drive into this complex of contemporary homes, you park in your private garage before taking the lift or stairs to the apartment. Straight away you will appreciate the sense of luxury and spaciousness that exudes throughout. A large open plan living area provides sea views and a well-equipped kitchen with dining and sitting areas, which have all been designed with luxury and comfort in mind. Bi-fold doors open onto a balcony, furnished with two comfortable chairs and a coffee table, the perfect place to relax after a busy day on the beach. The two bedrooms, one a king-size double with a balcony and two-seater outdoor sofa, along with an en-suite shower room, and a twin with zip/link John Ryan beds and 32" Smart TV, offer a choice of sleeping arrangements for either a family or two couples. From the apartment, it is only a short walk down to the beach, ideal for a swim before breakfast! A ten-minute walk will take you into the famous harbour village of Charlestown, one of the finest and most fascinating villages in Cornwall, which is home to a superb collection of old ships, which have been used in films around the world; the harbour scenes for Poldark were also filmed here. The village itself offers an excellent selection of pubs and cafes, making it the ideal place to take a stroll down for an evening. With The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan both close by, and the magnificent south coast of Cornwall to explore, this fabulous apartment really is the ideal base for a very special holiday near the coast.

A delightful and much sought after coastal village of stone cottages and regency houses, on the south coast near St. Austell. Famous for its collection of tall ships riding at anchor in the harbour, the shipwreck museum, excellent pubs and restaurants and easy access to the coastal path, it’s the perfect holiday destination.

We enjoyed sitting on the balcony on our sunny days. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of cooking facilities. An ideal place to go for two couples with the two shower rooms and toilets.

There are also lovely views of the sea, the morning sunrise is a treat at this time of year, with some of the trees between the apartment and the sea having shed their leaves there is more of the sea to see! We were rather unlucky during our stay in that the road that runs alongside the apartment was being resurfaced which meant that our cars were trapped behind the road works for literally hours at a time. We couldn’t risk leaving it until the final morning to start our journeys home so we had to leave early unfortunately. When I was about to leave and pulled my car out of the garage I got in trouble with a local resident for choosing to pack the boot of my car outside the garage (it was dark in the garage). I also picked up a few annoyed comments from some of the local residents during our stay, I’m not sure whether they were irritated by tourists staying into the winter or whether they were simply exasperated by the disruption caused by the road resurfacing works. Our cars were appropriately tucked away at all times apart from when we first arrived and when we finally left, and as is always the case when we stay at Sykes Cottages were we very considerate to our neighbours. The unfortunate circumstances of the days in which we stayed aside, I would recommend this apartment as it is very thoughtfully decorated, furnished and fitted out, it is very suitable for two friends, and the cleaners clearly do a very good job, thank you.
