    S33993 is a beautiful Victorian seaside property located in the picture perfect holiday village of Alnmouth. Positioned on the desirable Riverside Road facing directly onto the sea at the mouth of the estuary, this desirable property affords spectacular views. The accommodation within this self contained apartment is spread over two levels. The entrance vestibule leads to an open plan sitting room/dining area/kitchen with double gable windows boasting panoramic sea views. The master bedroom is also conveniently on this level; a particularly spacious room with feature bed, sitting area to enjoy the sea views, and large en-suite facilities too. Another double bedroom is on the lower ground floor with large windows ensuring it is a surprisingly bright and airy room. There is a spacious bathroom adjacent and the third bedroom and shower room are also on this floor along with a useful utility area too. There is a nautical themed rear bedroom with Gautier furnishings, a desk and ships wheel - your very own captain’s cabin.

    Alnmouth is a picturesque coastal village where there is a variety of good restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and gift shops for the discerning visitor all within a gentle stroll from S33993. Sailing enthusiasts have available to them yacht and small boat moorings within the sheltered estuary (Amble Marina) and golfing enthusiasts will delight in the two courses close by; one being a fine nine hole course adjacent to the beach and the other being a challenging 18 hole course at Foxton enjoying panoramic views. The first tee of the pay and play ancient links course is 100m from the property. An expansive sweep of golden, sandy beach is perfect for a romantic barefoot stroll for those who enjoy listening to the lap of the waves and inhaling the invigorating sea air….

    The historic market town of Alnwick is only 4 miles inland. Renowned for its cobbled streets there is a wide array of attractive shops, variety of pubs and tea rooms, cinema/playhouse and leisure facilities offering indoor swimming. Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts!) is a popular visitor attraction, or visit the Alnwick Gardens, a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, including a grand cascade waterfall and poison garden where guests can dine in the restaurant of the largest tree house in Europe!

    "Very comfortable accommodation with great views. Upstairs was great but downstairs was definitely a bit fusty, including the drains when water being run. Showers a bit tired and could be replaced."

    "Beautiful area and excellent views. Spacious and beautiful property which unfortunately is neglected and in need of update and a thorough clean.Livingroom uncomfortable as sofas are filthy and smell.Basement needs major ventilation, smells disgusting.Windows in house are painted shut and don't open, excluding much needed fresh air. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable dining suite which were useful.Well overpriced."

    "If you pay for S33993, you are paying for its outstanding location! It is amazing! The non-opening majority of windows, the musty downstairs due to lack of fresh air and the lack of WiFi were all major down sides. Having said that, the location wins and we would return."

    "Firstly the positives: the house is in an amazing location and it is well-equipped in the kitchen. However...I’m afraid there are a lot of negatives. The windows were filthy and all painted shut which was a real shame as the view is beautiful. It was airless in bedrooms and as it was hot, it was difficult to sleep. Freezer needs defrosting so door wouldn’t shut properly. Dust balls under furniture. Mouldy item found in fridge in one of the bedrooms, as well as rubbish in some cabinets in bedrooms. Some of the pillows in bed in master bedroom are old and musty. I know this all sounds very negative as it genuinely is in a wonderful location but I won’t be back as these things were annoying when you have paid a lot for a week’s holiday. There is also no wi-fi which is not ideal in this day and age."

    "This property is old and tired. Far too much old furniture. Who has a chaise in the toilet, and a great big pink velour chair next to the toilet in the upstairs bathroom, very unhygenic!.The position of the cottage is excelent, however the windows are filthy, and painted shut.The bins are full in the yard, the maintenance staff should pop round on the correct day and get them emptied, I'm afraid I'm not prepared to stagger down the alley with other people's rubbish.Be aware when having a shower. If someone else runs the water when you are in the shower the water will come through very hot.The duvet needs replacing in main bedroom, and some of the cruddy pillows.There was various bits and pieces under the furniture, so not sure how thorough the clean between letting.On arrival downstairs smelt of sewage. They are saniflo toilets and had probably been left unattended.Good points are the towels, and the kitchen is stocked sufficiently.There is a light in the back yard (no one would want to sit out there) and at night it is constantly going on and off. The blind in the upstairs bathroom is broken, so we tried to cover the window, so that the friend in the downstairs was not driven mad by it going on and off.Speaking of the third bedroom, it is stuffed with furniture, and the only way to pull the curtain is to climb up onto the top bunk.I believe that the television downstairs doesn't work.Most importantly NO INTERNET!The cottage needs a good overhaul, and a good clean, so that when you have driven all day, you feel you are pleased at your choice, not going round seeing dust and smells!"

    "A beautiful property in a wonderful location but sadly a few things let it down: 1) There was only enough hot water for 1 shower at any one time (not even enough to fill a bath. 2) Not that we visit Alnmouth to spend time inside on the internet but in todays world wifi is a given especially when the weather can be so unpredictable and there can be long lengths of time spent in the house. 3) On the surface the property looked clean but there was thick dust (balls of it) under all furniture (i.e. bed and sofas) and just generally unclean in places it was thought a guest could not see (under the bread bin). Even some of the pots and pans were dirty. It needs a little more talc and it would be spectacular."
