About this property

This end-terrace cottage is located in the heart of the thriving fishing village of Eyemouth, on Scotland's beautiful Berwickshire coast. An ideal cottage for family or friends, in a convenient location, less than one minute's walk to the beach, shops and pubs. Creel Cottage is aptly named, as it is one of the oldest buildings in Eyemouth, and was used to store the fishing nets in between trips on the turbulent North Sea. The ground floor has a spacious dining room and the sitting room is bright and airy, a lovely spot to curl up with a book after a long day’s castle construction on the beach. The first floor kitchen is well equipped and has a handy breakfast table and chairs. Three first floor bedrooms and a family bathroom complete this pretty little cottage. Stroll along to the beach at any time of year, whether on sunny days to picnic on the sands, or on winter days to blow away the cobwebs with the children and dogs in tow. As well as the sandy beach, there's also a good selection of cafes, shops and bars. Days out along this rugged coastline are varied and endless, visitors can enjoy coast path walks, watch the day’s haul being landed, play a round of golf or explore the nearby castles of this Heritage Coastline. A perfect cottage from which to explore this lovely part of the country.

Situated on the east coast, just over the Scottish border, and only eight miles north of Berwick upon Tweed, Eyemouth has been a bustling fishing port for centuries, and there is still a fish market supplied from local fishing boats today. Narrow cobbled streets preserve the ancient character of this delightful coastal town, and there are a number of visitor attractions outlining the history of the area. Visit Gunsgreen House and learn some of the history of the town and the smuggling that once took place, or enjoy the museum, fishing heritage centre and art galleries on offer.

My first time in Eyemouth and really enjoyed it , Couldn’t fault creel cottage from start to finish, lovely welcome pack which is always a nice greeting and even something for the dog , the house is very well equipped and every thing has been thought of , even down to blankets and towels for the dog , Bed was lovely and comfortable, internet was good had no issues worked fine all week ,Beach is a stones throw away which the dog loved, some lovely walks on cliff tops either way to st abbs or to burmouth , or just walk round harbour and watch the seals Great communication with the owners throughout, who was always on hand to answer any questions I had, cant wait to go back again

2 nd time back at creel in a short space of time , and it was just as good as the first time I went ,everything is just right for me , the location is excellent the owners think everything here to make it home from home, even down to dog blankets and towels , the welcome pack was again well appreciated The house is huge upstairs and if 5 people was in you would still have plenty of room Cant fault this place and the owners Thanks

Peaceful, restful, calming just an amazing break from everything. Cottage would suit everyone, families with beach so near takes seconds not minutes to access. Couples wanting a break from the day to day rush of life. Cottages has everything you need, comfortable, warm, welcoming and the pictures and decorations make it feel like a home. Will certainly be back either the 2 of us or with the grandchildren in the summer. Amazing place
