    This spacious, detached holiday home lies between lively Clacton-on-Sea, and the peaceful avenues of Holland-on-Sea, approximately 200 yards from the beach, and just a mile from Clacton Pier, with its rides, amusements, go karting and 10 pin bowling. Clacton town centre has numerous pubs, eateries, a cinema and shops. There are two fantastic theatres, hosting a variety of shows with celebrities and musicians throughout the year, and traditional pantomines at Christmas. The pier is the focal point for the annual airshow in August, and has regular firework displays on Sundays throughout the summer and autumn. It also hosts the Christmas day swim, where up to a hundred hardy souls, many in fancy dress, plunge into the sea for charity. It is well worth watching, you need to be very brave to join in! There are four golf courses within 5 miles, fishing is popular from the beaches and the pier, and there are several opportunites for bird watching nearby. You can drive, cycle or walk along the coast to nearby Frinton and Walton with their fantastic beaches and unique charm. Throughout the summer months, you can take a two hour guided boat trip around the backwaters to see many species of sea birds, and a colony of up to 100 grey seals. Further afield, visit Colchester, Britain’s oldest recorded town, with it’s castle and world famous zoo. Local towns such as St Osyth, Brightlingsea and Wivenhoe are all well worth a visit. Constable Country is on your doorstep, with fantastic walks along the river Stour and rowing at Dedham and Flatford. Whether you have had a fun time on the beach or exploring the local area, what better way to end the day than relaxing in the warm bubbles of the hot tub. Shop and restaurant ½ mile, pub 1 mile.

    "Looked worn and dated and was let down by old and uncomfortable furniture and poor kitchen equipment. General cleanliness left a lot to be desired, and fridge, freezer and microwave not clean. The description stated parking for 2 cars, but the drive could only fit one small car and so had to park on the road, disappointed.However, there was a nice welcome pack. The house was warm and spacious and the garden was enclosed which was good for the dog. There was a hot tub which was available but we did not use.This property has great potential, but needed to be modernised."

    "A lovely base to stay and for dog walks. Good size living areas downstairs and a big kitchen. Two large size double bedrooms and two single rooms (not used) Two Sky boxes in the downstairs rooms to cover most of the basic channels you'll need. Property mainly let down but the poor parking. Driveway is totally useless, too small and needs to be much wider. We only managed to park safely on the road outside of the property from the Mon-Thurs. (Billed as two car spaces well only if you have micro cars. Front room sofa and one chair totally in need of replacing / or putting in more support very uncomfortable. For anyone with mobility issues large front step and back. No downstairs toilet but two upstairs. Microwave didn't work and reported Sat replaced with another old one Monday which helped a lot as the oven / hob was awful to use.Two hook hangers in the hall (both only fit to hang dog leads on as loose) some hooks under the stairs for coats but door to this area had a small catch so not ideal to use often. Back garden good size although three fence panels were in need of repair, garden overgrown and needed work.Hot Tub nice but very noisy and some jets not working, would be better enclosed in a Conservatory to reduce noise and heat lost. Overall we loved the base and the property with a bit of work could easily be made up to a 10 in no time, it seemed a tired property awaiting an upgrade but we still loved it as did the dogs. Off road parking / driveway needs to be wider is the urgent task and front room sofa replaced. Guests won't like the cooker oven/hob (takes ages to cook anything) and the place needs a better microwave (although the one brought in Mon got us by) and definately needs a stand alone mini oven."
