About this property

Located just outside Omiš in the small village of Tugare, Villa Turan is the ideal choice for a smaller group visiting the region. Accommodating up to six guests, this 2-bedroom holiday home is a short walk from local amenities and offers its own 30 sq m outdoor pool and beautiful areas to relax on the terrace.

Around 10 minutes’ drive from the beach, this villa is peaceful and well located. Olive trees add shade to the garden and terrace areas, which include a dining space with a summer kitchen and large barbecue, and comfortable seating and sun loungers around the private pool. There is a lovely lawned area with garden swing, and any children in your party will love the wooden playhouse which offers toys, a PlayStation games console and a place they can relax by themselves.

The interior of this air-conditioned villa is modern and clean, using monochrome and muted tones to create a contemporary feel. In the living room you have TV and DVD, as well as a sofa-bed, plus there’s more space to enjoy dinner with room for six at the table. A well-equipped kitchen forms part of the same open-plan area, with a large fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and more. A cosy feel is guaranteed with a log-burning stove provided in case the evenings get chilly.

There is a double and a twin bedroom at Villa Turan, the twin room having direct access to the terrace. The double is beautifully styled and supremely comfortable, while the twin room is ideal for teenagers or children. Along with two bathrooms, the villa also offers a fitness room if you fancy a workout before you hit the pool.

Within a very short walk you have a bakery, shop and a couple of bars, and the centre of Omiš is just a few minutes’ drive away. This riverside town has plenty to offer the adventurous traveller – you might enjoy rafting, canyoning or zip-lining your way across the River Cetina – incredible views guaranteed.

A small harbour town on the Dalmatian Coast, Omiš sits at the mouth of the Cetina River. It has a long and rich history, with stories of the town’s notorious pirates running amok in the Middle Ages among those you are bound to discover. In the 13th and 14th century, they were the most-feared in the Adriatic, and used the river to make a quick getaway after attacking passing trade ships. In summer, Pirate Night tours are a popular attraction, telling tales of the pirates in a more family-friendly way.

Omiš is a pleasant place to spend your time with lovely beaches and a wealth of great restaurants and cafés. It’s visually impressive, with steep cliffs providing a backdrop to the Old Town, where you can find a Franciscan monastery and several old churches, in addition to the Mirabella fortress, dating from the 13th century. At the top of the mountain, there is also the Starigrad fortress – it’s quite a climb, but a rewarding one.

Olive groves and vineyards lend their magic to the beautiful areas which surround the town, and the Cetina gives you the opportunity to try out water-sports like rafting, canyoning and canoeing.

Omiš is something of a cultural hub too. The town hosts festivals celebrating music and theatre on a regular basis, with an annual highlight being the Festival of Dalmatian Klapas each summer. Split is also easily accessible from Omiš, around 25km away, so it’s easy to take a bus or mini-van to see the Diocletian Palace, the Cathedral of St Domnius or the town’s strangely unmissable frog museum.

Very nice property with all home comforts. Small supermarket, bakery and bar within one minute walking distance. Quiet location but good road networks to Omis and Split. Owner very helpful and friendly.

We are a family of four with 2 kids aged 10 and 12 years old. We had a fantastic week at the villa and would recommend it if you want somewhere away from the crowds but in east touching distance of lots things to do. The swimming pool is great and was maintained impeccably. The villa is really well equipped, clean and beautifully decorated. The scenery is stunning and there are some great walks from the villa. There is a supermarket 2 doors down which was really convenient but you will need a car for the steep drive down to Omis (although really good roads).
