    Admire spectacular views and enjoy the benefit of ground floor facilities during your stay at Poppies Court.
    These 4 quality and characterful barn conversions are set in striking ’White Peak’ scenery and each enjoys one of the most breathtaking views in the Peak Park, across to the jagged and dramatic Chrome and Parkhouse hills. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed in the area. The pretty market towns of Buxton, 4 miles, and Bakewell, 12 miles, and the village of Hartington, 5 miles, are an easy drive from the properties. Climbing at the Roaches and Froggatt, the caves at Castleton, Chatsworth House and Alton Towers theme park are all under a 30-minute drive away. Three of the properties (refs 10847, 10848 and 10849) are single-storey and suited to partially disabled guests. Harebell Hill (ref 10848) has its own garden with chairs and has 4 steps to the front door, with Poppies Court (ref 10847) having two steps. Their creative conversions have given the properties individual charm, with old stone arches, high vaulted ceilings and original beams. Jerusalem Cottage (ref 9603), 120 yards across the road from the other properties, is a 4 level conversion which features a galleried bedroom, split-level living room and kitchen, with its own washer/dryer and dishwasher. Jeruslaem Cottage has its own garden with lawn, patio and bench. The other three properties have shared washing facilities, complete with washing machine and tumble dryer. Shop 2 miles, pub 0.5 miles.

    "Poppies Court is small, there's no denying it, but it suited us perfectly, a married couple & two friends in their twenties. The property itself was spotlessly clean.The views across the valley are superb, but the village itself has no shops, but Buxton is only a few miles away & has plenty of shops.In short, a really nice place to stay."

    "Very comfortable for 2 people, but very cramped for 4. Took 10 minutes to find the double bedroom, an armchair sits in front of the door! To move the dining table out for 4 people requires blocking access to the twin room and the bathroom. The cleanliness in general was excellent but the underneath of various pots and pans had not been cleanedy previous users. Kitchen was well equipped with items not many people would use on holiday but we couldn't find any baking trays (to put pies, quiches on to heat). Only space for one person in the kitchen at any time. The worst thing of all was the constant noise from the flat above, we felt we were living underneath a herd of elephants! Having said all that, once we could move our luggage into the twin room (2 people were only staying 2 nights) it was much more comfortable and the owner was friendly and helpful. The view from the double bedroom was lovely, although people staying in the other properties drive or walk past the window so curtains need to be closed most of the time."

    "We were welcomed by Barbara, the owner, on arrival. A lovely lady who was very helpful throughout our week's stay. The property is in a rural location and a short walk from the small village of Earl Sterndale where there is a pub. The spa town of Buxton is 4-5 miles away. Plenty of walking routes in the area.Poppies Court was warm (apart from the small, unheated kitchen) and cosy - there was snow on the ground for much of our stay there. We would happily stay there again. Our first taste of the Peak District."
