About this property

Tucked away in the farming village of Stanbury, engulfed by beautiful moorland and farmland, is number 24 Main Street. Situated right next to 'The Wuthering Heights' inn, this stone cottage is ideal for walkers and historians looking to explore a fabulous region of Yorkshire. It has lovely, stone features throughout, with mullion windows and a woodburning stove adding a cosy ambience to the sitting room. Exposed beams uplift the interior, with beautiful fixtures and fittings, promising a home-from-home feel. The kitchen offers a contemporary design, fully equipped for all your cooking requirements. Upstairs is a twin room with zip/link beds and views out towards the wild landscape that inspired Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights'. The master double bedroom has been put together with lovely attention to detail and more of those countryside vistas. Bedside tables, a wardrobe and chest of draws, coordinated with lovely cushions, curtains and a throw, accompany the stylish bed. Serving these two rooms is the beautifully modern bathroom finished in grey and white. Adjacent to the bathroom is an old, feature fireplace adding character to the landing space. Positioned on the circular Bronte walk to Top Withins and the Bronte Falls, this makes the perfect base for those seeking fresh air and a healthy break. The pub next door serves delicious food and drinks, together with a traditional feel. The village of Haworth is close by with shops and places to eat and drink, as well as the Bronte Parsonage Museum and the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. Take a day to explore the towns and villages within the Dales and find many more attractions in the cities of York, Manchester and Leeds, all within driving distance. A delightful retreat in a beautiful region of West Yorkshire.

Stanbury is about a mile away from Haworth and sits near the derelict farmhouse Top Withens, which is said to have been the inspiration for Wuthering Heights. This is a popular walking destination and landmark, on the Pennine Way, a National Trail attracting amblers from all over. There are a few pubs, as well as a school and a church, with many more amenities in nearby Haworth. The Bronte Parsonage Museum is close by as well as the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. There is also the National Trust's East Riddlesden Hall, the city of York and the towns of Harrogate and Skipton to explore.
