About this property

This beautiful Lake District cottage is a converted former mill, set in a peaceful hamlet location. Its all-white exterior and sash windows create an idyllic country house scene, engulfed by craggy green fields and narrow, windy lanes, just 6 miles from Kendal. This cottage is perfect for families, friends and couples looking for a base to explore a different region of Cumbria. The interior boasts a traditional feel, brought together with stylish fixtures and thoughtful details peppering the rooms. Four bedrooms rest on the first floor, well-presented in soothing colours, offering a restful night's sleep. Refresh under a revitalising shower in the en-suite double before getting ready for the days adventures. Perhaps when you return after a long country walk, you may want to sink into the bathtub and luxuriate in a hot soak to soothe your aching muscles. The kitchen occupies modern fittings, yet retains some of its original features. An ornamental fireplace takes centre stage, complemented by a lovely farmhouse theme. The sitting room offers an elevated position on a raised platform. Here, you can gather around the woodburner on a cosy autumn night and relax into the plush sofa. Outside enjoys a glorious garden, with a plethora of wildlife flourishing among pretty flowers and shrubbery, to be enjoyed the year-round. A small pond is full of newts and frogs in the Spring and Summer. Take a seat on the sunny lawn and ooze in the tranquil atmosphere. Crook is a tiny hamlet with a pub in the south of the Lake District National Park. There are plenty of walking opportunities right from the doorstep, however for further attractions, is the nearby historic town of Kendal. With its reputation for shopping, old cobbled lanes and the stone ruins of its 12th century castle perched over the town, Kendal is a popular destination among tourists. Visit Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life, the fascinating Quaker Tapestry, Lake Windermere and the wider National Park. The vibrant towns of Bowness and Windermere are less than fifteen minutes drive away and offer much appeal, with boat trips, gift shops, pubs and The World of Beatrix Potter attraction. There is also a variety of watersports on offer at marine centres along the lake. This countryside cottage, with so much on offer in the surrounding area, is perfect for you and your family.

Crook is a small hamlet located in the heart of Lakeland countryside and offers access to the Lake District National Park. There are two hotels/pubs in Crook itself and a wide variety of walks on the surrounding fells. Less than six miles from Lake Windermere - England's longest lake - and a similar distance from all of the amenities of Kendal.

Plenty of room for a group of friends. Exceptionally well kitted out with everything and more to ensure a great stay. Pretty furnishings and decor. Highly recommended.

Didn't hav good weather so we didn't get to enjoy the lovely garden the only negative is the garden not being enclosed so had to keep the dog on his lead when he was out. Apart from that cottage is perfect and a lovely place to stay. Thank you for doggy treats and our sweet treats.
