About this property

Villa Dylla is a whitewashed pearl nestled in the sweeping Algarve countryside, the villa and its surrounding area offer the perfect getaway for both holidaymakers in search of adventure, and those who wish to relax in the warm Portuguese sunshine.

The villa is bursting with charm, having a warm and homely feel throughout, it makes the perfect home from home for families on holiday. The entertaining space comprises of a fully-equipped kitchen and a dining room fit for the whole family.

The French windows help to fill the living room with light, bringing the beautiful sunshine indoors, perfect for those searching for a spot of shade. Villa Dylla can comfortably accommodate up to fifteen guests across eight bedrooms spread across the main house and wooden chalet. In the main house three of the bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, each boast en-suite bathrooms.

The remaining two bedrooms, a double or twin and a single, share the use of a family bathroom. In the rustic wooden chalet are the final three bedrooms, a double room and two twin rooms as well as a family bathroom.

The outside space is awe-inspiring, with something to entertain those of all ages. The large private pool is perfect for soaking up the Algarve sunshine, while the terrace complete with dining facilities is the ultimate space from which to end the day dining al fresco.

The children will enjoy playing games on the extensive lawned gardens which even boasts a fun climbing area and slide. For those who are in training for Wimbledon, there is also a full-size tennis court, an excellent way for the family to have some competitive fun!

The villa is situated in Mexilhoeira Grande, a quaint town of 4,000 that’s embraced by the gorgeous countryside of the western Algarve. There are traditional Portuguese restaurants and mini-markets within walking distance and cheap bus service for those who wish to get out and explore.

A 10km journey southward takes you to Alvor, a picturesque fishing village that’s with both European and Moorish architecture; a testament to the area’s rich and varied heritage. Alvor is the perfect place to indulge in Portugal’s world-famous seafood cuisine, and a handful of excellent restaurants provide plenty of opportunities to tuck into a plate of fresh grilled sardines.

Two kilometres further south the Algarve melts into the ocean to the tune of Praia dos Três Irmãos (‘the beach of the three brothers’), a luxurious blanket of golden sand that’s punctuated by coves and fascinating rock formations.

For those in search of something a little more cosmopolitan, the city of Portimão offers shopping, nightlife and gorgeous architecture, while Lagos is famous for its winding cobbled streets, and it’s fascinating eventful history.

Both Lagos and Portimão are also gateways to more beaches than you could ever ask for, each with their unique flavour. Whether it’s the Praia da Rocha or Praia Dona Ana, the coast of the Algarve is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful on the planet

It’s no surprise that the western Algarve is a haven for sports enthusiasts of all kinds. If water sports are your thing, there’s plenty of opportunities to try your hand at sailing, windsurfing and scuba-diving. However, if you’d rather keep your feet dry, paragliding, rock-climbing and mountain biking are all rife in the area.

If the all of the above sound a little hectic, you’ll probably be more drawn to a spot of wine-tasting, or perhaps a relaxing boat trip, where it’s common to catch a glimpse of the dolphins that are native to the area.

We are a big family (15 people) that had an amazing week in Algarve. The house is amazing and big, with two wings and a big comunal area. The pool area is great and the pool temp was great when the heater eventually got fixed. We didnt spend too much time just around the mexilihora are, since we had cars (you do need cars to stay here) but the algarve coast is amazing and it is definitely worth a visit. It was over all better than we hopped for and part of that is the amazing weather we got, but also the amazing house. I feel i might have over-used the word amazing so I guess that will sum it up :)
