The Cottage itself was nice and spacious, the kitchen was well equipped (although the knives were blunt) and the beds were comfy. The ground floor is all hard floors, so make sure to pack your slippers if you don't like cold feet!We were a group of 6, my parents, us and two children, aged 5 and very nearly 3, so 2 doubles and a twin was perfect. We knew from the description the twin room and a bathroom was downstairs, but we didn't anticipate that they were the furthest point possible from the upstairs bedrooms, through the hallway, kitchen and utility room. My husband and I had a long walk in the night to get to the children or bathroom (down the creakiest stairs I've ever encountered with low head room), as my parents had the ensuite room. Fortunately we always travel with our old baby monitor and a couple of nightlights, so we could hear the children when they called out, and could see the way.Personally, I would configure the rooms with the four poster bed downstairs with one bathroom, then the twin beds upstairs so the children were closer to parents and could share the ensuite (which we had to use for bathtime anyway). The room would also take a third single bed easily, and possibly a fourth (a campbed that could be packed away if not required?), making the cottage ideal for bigger family groups. The ensuite room was also very spacious, and had plenty of room for a travel cot (or two). There were a couple of critisisms:1.There was no cleaning equipment, just a dustpan and brush. This wasn't much use against spilled drinks and wet footprints tracking from the hot tub to the bathroom. We ended up using a the hand towels to mop the floor.2.There was lack of drying space for wet towels and swimming costumes. The one airer provided wasn't enough for 4 adults, 2 kids and all the extra wet towels. A washer dryer in the space provided in the utility room would be perfect.3.There were no instructions for the hot water or wall heaters. I ended up Googling the heater instructions and setting the programme for the remainder of our stay on the first (rather chilly) morning.4.There was no information regarding local attractions or footpaths. We discovered the footpath from the water mill ruins led right back to the cottage. Carew Castle was a good day out.5.The fire guard was hidden behind the armchair. We discovered it on the last morning collecting up wayward toys. 6.Lastly, the hot tub was positioned so that the seats faced the wall or hedge. Not one faced the views over the fields and trees and big expanse of sky, which had an amazing view of the stars as it was so dark. Turning it 180deg would make it a tub with a stunning view.

Thank you. This was a perfect getaway with friends. The accommodation was clean, spacious and set in a stunning location. The owner Heather is absolutely wonderful and from start to end made our few days away feel very warm and welcoming. Definitely returning to this beautiful cottage.

Hosts were great, bed very comfy but needed a little updating in places ie kitchen drawer wobbly, mouldy shower curtain, toilet flush loose. TV not the best
