The lodge was dirty and in this climate is completely unacceptable. The loo hasn’t been cleaned properly neither had the oven prior to previous occupant however clear instructions state for everything to be cleaned before checkout. Horrendous uncomfortable bed and couch. Hot tub jets weren’t working so no bubbles. The temperature couldn’t be set high enough either as a fault with the reader. The surroundings/location were perfect however the imperfections lead to a very uncomfortable experience so much so we had to leave a day early. For what was only a short break anyway it really put a downer on the whole experience

Beautiful lodge in lovely surroundings. Immaculately clean inside - one of the best lodges we’ve been too. The heating system is wonderful - you don’t need to take or buy any logs the stuff is supplied for you another excellent feature. The kitchen is fully functional with all utensils including a pizza slice!! Something that most lodges leave out for some reason. The only criticism is the bed in the master bedroom. It just wasn’t comfortable at all. I would suggest taking a mattress topper. The lane to the lodge is fine -Narrow so take your time. I’m not sure in the height of winter my car would cope.. an SUV/ 4x4 would be better. Overall it was really relaxing and we would definitely return. The sofas upstairs with recliners were fantastic and I found myself sitting here most of the time! The views really are wonderful. It’s worth noting you can’t have BBQ’s there or any visitors to the lodge (only the named people on the booking). This was fine for us as we were over 2.5 hours away from home anyway.
