"Lovely cottage great place to relax and unwind."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Gorse Barn mainly for it's peace and tranquility with high spec finish, including a wood burning stove. The bed was lovely and comfortable with fluffy duvet, the kitchen was also well stocked with a variety of pans and crockery. It was nice touch to have a welcome pack and a few DVDs. Wifi worked fine. The single track steep road leading up to the property is not for the faint hearted but for the most part we didn't have anything come the other way, so it was fine - besides, my husband loved that bit!We stayed the first week of November which meant that some of the "attractions" round about were not open out of season but not a problem if you enjoy walking or touring round. The weather was kind to us too. We will definitely be back!"

"Excellent cottage in a superb area, close to all the activities whatever you want to do! Snowdonia National Park is simply stunning as are the beaches on the west coast or the Great Orme."
    Andy ‐ 15 Sep 2019
"Excellent, comfortable, and relaxing cottage in a lovely setting, would highly recomend to anyone wanting a quiet retreat, or good base for walking or site seeing."

"5 star luxurious accommodation, well positioned for all North Wales has to offer. Our hosts were great, very friendly and easily contactable when we had a problem with the wi-fi; fixed quickly with a new router! Easy reach to mountains- we did a peak almost every day; clean beaches, historic sites- brilliant castle at Caenarfon and disused copper mine on Anglesey. Bonus was the Eisteddfod was in the town! Considering returning with family to take up the larger accommodation."

"We had the most relaxing week at Gorse Barn - it is the most wonderful peaceful place to recharge your batteries. The cottage is tastefully decorated and very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It is ideally situated for visiting towns and attractions in North Wales with lots of places being within a half hour drive. We would not hesitate to recommend Gorse barn to family and friends and hope to return again in the future."

    Sarah ‐ 27 Apr 2019
"Excellent accommodation has everything you need for a lovely break. Great hosts on hand if needed. Fishing available on site, unfortunately didn’t catch any fish this time! Great location for exploring north Wales."

"We couldn't have been happier with Gorse Barn! It's even better than it looks in the pictures, keeping some of the original barn features but with modern touches. Even after a lovely day out we were excited to get back and enjoy a cosy evening in front of the wood burning fire watching films or doing a jigsaw puzzle. There are so many lovely walks in the surrounding area too that you're spoilt for things to do. The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful during our stay and we can't wait to book our next visit!"

"We had a lovely stay here. The cottage is perfect - well furnished, very comfortable, clean and tidy. We were staying with our young baby so were keen to have a cottage which was located well for trips out in the day and comfortable for evenings in. It was perfect! Jo was very accommodating when the baby was ill and we couldn’t have asked for more. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends and I have no doubt we’ll stay here again."

"Amazing little barn - we've stayed in quite a few 5* hotels and the feel of this wasn't far off. Nice and romantic for 2 or nice with a little one like we had. Definitely recommend - great for exploring north wales. My only wish was for a little map to be emailed of road up to the barn to make it easier to locate, but aside from that wouldn't change anything. Bottle of red wine, tea & coffee, biscuits, toiletries and wood on arrival were a lovely touch x"

"Even though we knew from the website photos that this cottage looked nice we didn't realise how beautiful it was when we arrived. The location has lovely views across the Conwy Valley to the mountains of Carnedd Llewelyn and beyond. The location is actually very good as you can get to Conway, Llandudno and the north coast easily, Snowdonia is 20 minutes away, Betws-y-Coed 10 minutes, west coast and Anglesea easily achievable within an hour. Beautiful Bodnant Gardens are within a couple of miles and a lovely farm shop & restaurant is not too far from the cottage either. There are some fantastic places to eat within 10 minutes drive radius. Lllanwrst is also a nice town to visit and for walks along the Conwy river. The quality of the cottage is superb with oak flooring in the kitchen, beautiful soft carpet in the living and bed rooms, a fantastic contemporary bathroom with a quality bath and shower, c/w underfloor heating. There's a log stove for those cosy nights in c/w enough logs to get you going for at least a couple of nights and plenty more logs are available from the owners log store, which they'll ask you to pay a small fee based upon an honesty system. We stayed for 4 nights in February and I used another basket that's all.Even without the stove, you won't be cold as there is a modern central heating system that really warms the place up with easy to use controls. The kitchen is equipped with a full height fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer all integrated. I couldn't find anything lacking in the utensils department, and my wife and I do quite a lot of cooking from scratch. The living room has comfortable clean furniture and a modern large format Netflix enabled TV. The bedroom is spacious and has the most comfortable super king size bed I've ever slept in, there's also another large format TV mounted on the wall here too.The cleanliness of this place is outstanding, and you feel like you're the first people in - it just smells so new, and the towels, bed linen, pillows seem like they've been bought new. The general cleanliness of the building, the carpets, bathroom, kitchen is of the highest standard we've ever come across. It gives you the impression that the owners take their business seriously and want people to enjoy their stay. There are 22 acres of land, with ponds and lakes all of which are available for guests use, which you'll find in the information pack along with a comprehensive list of things to do and places to eat.The owners (Andy & Jo) themselves are a lovely couple, they rang us the night before we set off to ensure that we knew where we were going, how to get there, how to contact them if need be and even sent us a WhatsApp pin on a map to tell us exactly where we were going! Andy popped over once we'd settled in just to run us through the basics of the cottage. They seem to know how to treat their guests because they were so unobtrusive, and yet we had the impression they would be so attentive if anything was needed. On a last note, we have been many places in the UK and the world in private s/c accomodation, and while we've (luckily) never had a bad place I'd put this experience in my top 5, and it would be no.1 in the UK.Thanks to Jo and Andy, for being such excellent hosts - you've nailed it!"

"On arriving at horse barn we were wow-ed! Lovely cosy accommodation with everything you need. Great location for exploring North Wales. We when and explored Conwy Castle and had fish and chips by the Quay. Zipworld fforest Coster is a must for big kids. Betws-y-Coed is a beautiful place Hand In Pizzera have gorgeous pizza and really good coffee. Also there is a lovely walk alone a river. Jade 2 in llanwrst is a short drive away and a really tasty Chinese takeaway."
