"We enjoyed our stay at S18192. It is a homely well equipped holiday let. There are a few amenities right on the doorstep including beach, mini golf, swimming pool, pub and shops. It is also close to the team for access to Blackpool, Cleveleys etc. Hence it's a good base.We were impressed by the facilities innthe kitchen. Everything you need plus dishwasher and washing machine ( although no dryer or washing line).. Also teabags, dishcloth, tea towel etc which were nice unexpected touches. Kitchen was in pretty good condition as was living room and bathroom. The general let down was the state or the decor notably upstairs. It is in need repainting as a number of walls were somewhat grubby to say the least. It appears that work has been done in some rooms but not throughout. The cottage was fairly clean but could do with a thorough once over occasionally ( count the cobwebs!)On the comfort front the mattresses on the double bed and single beds were most uncomfortable hence my marking down score of 6. Not sure what was wrong with vthe double but parts of it stuck in you. Could definetely benefit from a new one. Overall pretty good but needs a few quid spent updating the concerns mentioned."

"Property (converted barn ) unsuitable for purpose. Very cold, with evidence of residual damp. Inadequate heating (convectors) resulting in additional cost of £48.50, for 10 days! Dirty cutlery & crockery, congealed food & dead creatures. 4 missing light bulbs, only 1 replaced. Electric iron lead, taped in 2 places! No torch/candles for emergency. Cobwebs throughout + signs of damp on various walls, evidence of dampness on some artwork. Settee had collapsed springs in mid base, dirty cushions & broken zip. Bathroom unfit for purpose, too small. Towel heater caused burns, when washing, toilet seat split, causing injury to both. No kitchen soap. Used washcloth & stainless steel scouring balls. Marked reluctance for owner's team to accept any responsibility"

"This is a charming house in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with far reaching views. The house is warm with constant hot water and a supply of wood for the fire. It has every convenience, including a large patio and garden. We could not have expected a warmer welcome and we felt as if we were important guests. We would highly recommend this property and certainly, we hope to visit it again. This is an idyllic property for those, seeking a quiet break but without feeling isolated. There are many local areas of natural beauty near the property, as well as many charming villages, such as Kirkby Lonsdale. This is a very special place and we feel privileged to have been able to spend a holiday there."

"The cottage was clean but there was a bad smell from the living room furniture which we could not get used to it would be better to replace the seating. Kitchen and equipment was good and so where the bedrooms. It rained one night and the water came through the ceiling next to the light, had to get a bowl to catch the water. A lot of noise from the pub across the road and a lot of arguments and bad language from young people probably through drink. This is one of the problems being close to a pub. Location was okay but no views from the cottage with a garage workshop at the back with a small enclosed yard at the rear of the cottage but the soil pipe was leaking and the concrete was always wet. Good WiFi."

"My review scores may have been influenced by the incredible Bank Holiday sunny weather, but to be frank, this is the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in: Jane, the owner who lives next door, has thought of - and provided - everything you need for an outstanding home-from-home stay in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. It is also rare to find a cottage for four which has two well-appointed, double bedrooms, each with an ensuite. Add private, outside space in the courtyard garden to the rear of the property, complete with patio furniture, parasols and a bbq - and it’s hard to think of what else you might need ... I’d recommend this cottage without reservation!"
