"Sofa was uncomfortable. Very little natural light in the property: it was gloomy and airless. It was however super clean, very tastefully done out and located in very pretty idyllic surroundings, but it was not somewhere I felt l wanted to spend any time in. Happily the weather was great so I could get out and about and didn't need to spend time at the property, except overnight. The owners provided a welcome pack including home made shortbread and a loaf of bread which was very nice. I think the property details should specify that the owners who live on site have a large and very friendly dog- in case you are a visitor who isn't keen on dogs and doesn't want to find one inside your cottage if you leave the door open. There was also a humidifier running in the sitting room- which could be switched off- but not ideal."

"We loved our stay here. The cottage and location are beautiful. If you want to get away from it all and be in nature, this is the place. Beautiful walks, literally at the bottom of the garden. The cottage is surprisingly spacious for two people, and has such a lovely feel. We felt really at ease and relaxed staying here. Our dogs loved it too! The local amenities (shops, etc) are not fantastic. But it’s not too long a drive into Machynlleth, where you can get everything you need. You don’t expect amazing local amenities in such a rural location, so just do a shop before you go. The owners, Malcolm and Alison were so friendly and welcoming. They even gave us a welcome pack of homemade shortbread, gorgeous fresh bread, eggs and milk, tea, coffee and sugar. We will definitely be returning."

"S57756 rateA lovely cottage with beautiful surroundings, and sheep on your doorstep! Very close to the four waterfall trail in Ystradfellte, and also to Pen y Fan and Corn Du. The cottage is very remote, with no 3G signal and no WiFi. Take good note of the path into the cottage from the A470 once you are shown it by the host, because the postcode doesn’t help with locating it! Electricity is operated with a generator, which can be left on overnight if absolutely necessary, particularly for perishable fridge items. The cottage is well stocked with bed linen, towels, crockery and cutlery, and there are some condiments too. The host is very friendly and helpful! Many thanks for a nice stay."

"If it’s a get away from everything Holiday you’re looking for then look no further. Tucked away in the hills, no net connection until you reach the road, a peaceful idyllic farmhouse, stone floors, walls and staircase, surrounded by sheep, horses and cows. The nearest co-op is approx 5 kms away, a couple of take aways, great fish n chip shop. Set close to the Beacons this is a perfect setting. Rhossili Bay is approx 1hr 20 mins away. Plenty of walks, superb waterfalls. Very well equipped accommodation, basic and well catered for. We had a superb break, my grandson loved the stream which runs at the bottom of the garden. I would recommend. The owners were very accommodating."

"From the moment we arrived, we had a very warm and friendly welcome. In the stunning cottage was fresh, handmade bread, melt-in-your-mouth shortbread and a 2 pints of milk. The whole place oozed character with each room being a good size. Waking up to sun streaming through the bedroom window and the sound of the stream just 20 feet away was so beautiful. The whole area is stunning and we honestly couldn't fault anything. Hopefully we'll get to return again soon. The only reason we marked it down on local amenities was purely for the fact is was just a little too remote to walk to a pub or shop. However, this didnt detract from our overall enjoyment."
