What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Porthmadog To Rent.
Mrs Ralph - verified booking
"There were many maintenance issues referred to in previous reviews, I actually contacted the property manager while I was there and most of these issues were rectified without any problem -, however it is clearly a managed property and there is not a system of checking property other than cleaning. It has one huge bedroom and another v small one, we really didn't enjoy sleeping in the latter, although it had a storage area and ensuite there was very little natural light. I think it is more suited to 3 not 4 people. Time and time again people have mentioned lack of welcome pack and lack of basics, there were 5 teabags and a packet of welsh cakes but no MIlK! Some holiday cottages have a hotel type box of tea and coffee and milk sachets, But in recent years all cottages have at least a pint of milk and some coffee tea and sugar as an absolute minimum, although many do a lot more. There was no soap or hand wash in the bathrooms. This really is not good enough for a flat which was really pretty expensive. With very little effort this place could be much better, if it charged £10 more and provided welcome pack, soap and other basics. Needs a pair of scissors in kitchen. It's up to you whether you publish this, I just hope you talk to the owner about my feedback and that of others."

"There are several issues which require the owner's attention, not least the front bathroom toilet roll holder hanging off the wall and a broken chair leg on one of the dining chairs. These and other issues are mentioned several times in the visitors book and many have been outstanding for a long time. The place was not as clean as I would have expected, sweeping the floor on our first day revealed much dust and a fair amount of sand. I would also mention, bearing in mind the rental charged, the lack of items of equipment that are commonly found in other places we have stayed, notably a DVD player, a stereo system to enable CDs to be played and a pair of scissors! Despite the above, we have booked again for next year in the hope that at least some of the above issues will have been rectified."

"This cottage was perfect for what we needed. Ok, it's not furnished with the most up to date but it's a holiday cottage. Plenty of hot water, very clean, all the equipment in a kitchen you would need and more. The tv was cute, as my 9 yr old put it...tiny big thing!! So no plugging in the Apple TV! But who cares. The best thing about this was the location. It was out of the way yet it was on a cycle path right into Porthmadog and then on to the beaches, perfect for us. Beds were comfortable and linen and towels were white and crisp. Definitely recommend and would go back. Loved North Wales. Owner was fabulous too, didn't interfere but was there when we needed help! Thank you A***"

"<strong>A beautiful, amazing, property.</strong> We loved the interior design, inglenook fireplace, it was absolutely fabulous!<br /> Our original plan had been to explore Snowdonia, but actually we loved the immediate local area, coast and peninsula. Did some walks where we had the whole valley to ourselves. <br /> The cottage owners were very welcoming, warm and friendly. Cake and wine on arrival left out.<br /> I found Best of Wales very considerate, responsive and helpful.<br /> Recommendations: The Peninsula, driving the car on Black Rock Sands Beach, and Caernarfon Castle and town."

"Excellent property and a wonderful family. We found no faults with our accommodation and would love to come back and stay with them again. They provided us with a pint of milk as well as salt, tea, coffee, and sugar. A wide range of cutlery, crockery, utensils, pots, pans, and cleaning equipment was provided. Having a Tesco nearby helped as this is self catering. There was even a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, and an iron & iron board! The beds were so comfortable, we had the best sleep in a long time."
