What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Porthmadog To Rent.

"There were many maintenance issues referred to in previous reviews, I actually contacted the property manager while I was there and most of these issues were rectified without any problem -, however it is clearly a managed property and there is not a system of checking property other than cleaning. It has one huge bedroom and another v small one, we really didn't enjoy sleeping in the latter, although it had a storage area and ensuite there was very little natural light. I think it is more suited to 3 not 4 people. Time and time again people have mentioned lack of welcome pack and lack of basics, there were 5 teabags and a packet of welsh cakes but no MIlK! Some holiday cottages have a hotel type box of tea and coffee and milk sachets, But in recent years all cottages have at least a pint of milk and some coffee tea and sugar as an absolute minimum, although many do a lot more. There was no soap or hand wash in the bathrooms. This really is not good enough for a flat which was really pretty expensive. With very little effort this place could be much better, if it charged £10 more and provided welcome pack, soap and other basics. Needs a pair of scissors in kitchen. It's up to you whether you publish this, I just hope you talk to the owner about my feedback and that of others."

"Cottage extremely well equipped; if you think ' I wonder if there is.....?' The answer is likely to be yes. Owner very happy to allow us to kept bicycle in locked outhouse. Having a pub with restaurant in easy walking distance is always a bonus. Enclosed garden very useful for small to medium dog, large boisterous one may get over fence. Also a useful walk, constructed on a disused railway line, about 5 min walk away where I was able to let dog off lead. There were 3 adults staying which was comfortable, much more and it could become a little cramped. There is no doubt the ceilings in the bedrooms are low as the rooms are built in the roof. The room with twin beds is easier to use. If in any doubt about the suitability of the property I would suggest studying the pictures of the property on the web. Nearest shops in Porthmadog about 6 miles away."

"There are several issues which require the owner's attention, not least the front bathroom toilet roll holder hanging off the wall and a broken chair leg on one of the dining chairs. These and other issues are mentioned several times in the visitors book and many have been outstanding for a long time. The place was not as clean as I would have expected, sweeping the floor on our first day revealed much dust and a fair amount of sand. I would also mention, bearing in mind the rental charged, the lack of items of equipment that are commonly found in other places we have stayed, notably a DVD player, a stereo system to enable CDs to be played and a pair of scissors! Despite the above, we have booked again for next year in the hope that at least some of the above issues will have been rectified."

"One of the most comfortable, cosy and well equipped properties, I have ever stayed in. Which was particularly pleasing, as it was my partners first U.K. self catering cottage holiday. She now wants to do more! We were also luckilyblessed with a week of sunshine and warm temperatures. The tourist sights of Snowdonia were easily accessible. The property was convenient to Portmadoc, for catching the earlier trains, on both the Ffestiniog and the Welsh Highland narrow gauge railways. The Snowdon Mountain and Llanberis Lakes Railways are also in easy driving distance. An excellent pub/restaurant "The Goat" is less than a mile away. All in all, exactly what I would wish from a holiday cottage."

"Have stayed here on a number of occasions since 2012. We find it ideally situated for the hills/mountains (being less than half an hour from most of the nearby ranges including Snowdon) and close to the beaches of Harlech down to Barmouth and the Llyn. There are a number of good quality restaurants and cafes within a couple of miles. If you like ice cream try Borth y Gest; for something a little more art decor go to Dylans in Criccieth.Located in a traditional N Wales working village the accommodation is comfortable and the changes to the parking area make it much easier to back in and out. The big plus is the conservatory and garden with its views over the estuary and nearby hills."
