"One of the few premises I have been in where the photographs on-line don't do justice to the size of this property. Bright, comfortable and well fitted, and impressive interior design. The hamper provided was also very good.Staff on the estate were friendly, helpful and cheerful. Food in the restaurant was very good, and the cafe was very pleasantLoss of a star for the following issues. We rarely felt warm in the bathroom, and adjustment of the temperature was too complex for this technophobe. Also, as the shower has an open end, it ***** in cold air, so it wasn't a comfortable experience. First use of it, on full, resulted in flooding part of the bathroom. It therefore wasn't possible to have it on full.I felt the heavy shutter screen provided to give some privacy across the front door, could be considered a hazard in the event of attempting to escape a fire. Wouldn't vertical blinds be better? They can also be drawn across. One of the exterior lights, at the bathroom end, is low and I banged my head on it. The two either side of the front door are higher, so why not this one? Finally, the A5 road is alongside, and although it did not affect our sleep I can see that in summer, sat on the terrace the noise could intrude."

"Found S25907 very suited to our needsLocal to walks and amenities, with no need to put dogs in the car, secure garden/yard for animals and seating, although planted areas and beds need attentionKitchen very well equippedLounge area comfortable and clean, Wi-fi very goodBeds comfortable and clean with plenty of sheetsWas quite a lot of foot traffic in front of cottage as it is a shortcut to supermarket and canalAnd when windows open was a very strong smell of spices due to the close proximity to the chip shop, Chinese takeaway and Indian restaurant with all three within 50m as the crow or aroma fliesWe did have some noise on the Saturday night from a garden party in the apartments close by till early hours but when window was closed could not hear it to be fair due to the quality of the windowsAll in All a nice cottage which comfortably homes 3 couples and three dogs, so must expect some compromises for the priceWould stay again"

"Fabulous holiday cottage with just about everything you could wish for. A very thoughtful welcome basket on arrival, toys and games for all ages, every pot,pan ,plate and glass that you could need and more- super space, comfortable beds. The owners were very accommodating, our children wanted to surprise us and hire a hot tub for a few days, which they agreed to and which we thoroughly enjoyed. The pool table offered us hours of competitive fun! There are lovely walks (detailed in the information book that is provided ) from right outside the front door.Unfortunately the local pub has closed down-the nearest is pub is about a 5minute drive away, S16993 is on a very busy main road so we thought walking was not advisable .Eight of us stayed at S16993 and eight of us would stay again!!"

"We had a family gathering (8 adults, 6 children and 2 dogs) to celebrate a 70th birthday. We loved the spaciousness of the property - the beds were comfortable and it was spotlessly clean.Being a historic listed building, there was not the level of "luxury" one might get in other places, but perfectly adequate. The older children used the internet service extensively, though this was subject to speed restrictions, which caused some frustration. The outdoor table-tennis was a surprise - and we had the beautiful weather to use it.We were pleased that our visit coincided with one of the 6 days a year when the NT part of the house was open to the public - a real bonus. The road access had rather a lot of potholes, but this is not unexpected in a farm track."

"An unfortunate first impression. Apparently we weren't expected and the cottage was cold and smelled slightly damp. The advertised kindling etc for making a fire were also not provided so the first evening and night were cold and uncomfortable. Once the central heating had warmed the property the impression improved considerably. Many of the facilities and decor had frozen around the 1970s with formica work surfaces and avocado bathroom fittings, (rather nostalgic) but everything worked and everything we needed was provided. The garden was lovely. By the end of our stay we felt very much at home and would be very happy to revisit."
