"The Mill has been very tastefully refurbished, the location is fabulous - very peaceful sitting by the river. There is a brilliant barbecue, a boat to go up the river (we saw otters), lots of lawn for the children, and a choice of eating places. La Gacilly and Carentoir have good shopping within a few minutes drive. La Gacilly with its photography exhibition, pretty cobbled streets, and wide range of shopping and restaurants is really lovely. The local area is great for pottering about and exploring the countryside and unspoilt towns, and it about 40 minutes drive to the coast. Inside, the mill is very authentic, which has its advantages and disadvantages. The small windows meant that whilst the mill is cool, you don't get the through flow of air in hot weather. We found the seating uncomfortable, the fridge didn't work well, the glass / crockery / cutlery, oven and bedding not to today's expectations for a property of this price. A few small updates would make a lot of difference. The inside is very dark. All that aside, in summary - if you plan to be out and about and would enjoy the outside with less concern about creature comforts, you will - as we did - enjoy your stay. The beds are comfortable and it is a magical location."

"The wooded, tranquil riverside setting was beautiful, and the property itself was historic and full of character. We enjoyed the fishing and boating. The wildlife was interesting too. The property made a good base for visiting local towns by car, and the owner was very helpful. Ultimately though, in my view the lack of creature comforts inside the house let the property down--though as others have said, this could be easily sorted out, and then it would be perfect!"

"A fine holiday home, with outstanding all-weather facilities (swimming pool; gym; etc) and very comfortable accommodation. The owners were most welcoming and obliging, with a wealth of local knowledge to pass on re amenities and attractions in the area. 'S117161' is within walking distance of the charming village centre of Eance and within day-trip distance of Angers, Nantes, even St. Malo.A most enjoyable stay; 'S117161' is also excellent value for money."

"The house has the potential to be beautiful, however, it is in need of considerable updating and a thorough clean throughout. There is insufficient furniture and hot water for nine people. The pool area is in desperate need of a clean and maintenance. Although the description boasts local restaurants, they were all closed during our stay in August."

"Gorgeous cottage, very clean, very secure, everything is attention to detail and lovely friendly owners who want to make sure everything is ok for you. Fab location for cycling, lovely towns to visit, the week we stayed there flew by and would definitely return. Fully recommend this gite, it is one of the best places we have ever stayed"
