"Impressive accommodation, tastefully furnished with a nice touch of luxury with all the fixtures and fittings. Arrival was trouble free and there was a welcome bottle of bubbly to make it a nice occasion. The jacuzzi was great fun, not something we'd normally do but the location and view was too tempting. The studio barn layout, island kitchen etc all made the visit feel special. The first evening was great but the following morning the on-site wood mill, JCB road excavator and petrol powered landscaping machinery started up, it was like they were building a by-pass outside the window. This continued for the next 2 days and frankly drowned out an otherwise picturesque location. It all stopped in the evening but it managed to taint our first break of the year and wound us up rather than down. Practically there was nowhere comfortable to sit outside, the table and chairs were rusty and uninviting but frankly with all the noise we were happy indoors. We all have outside maintenance to do but this was excessive, particularly for a countryside holiday location. Otherwise I can't fault it and with the road built, all the wood chopped and the landscapers given some quieter battery powered equipment we would visit again with a whole hearted five stars."

"The cottage has two good-sized bedrooms on the ground floor. Upstairs is a very fancy bathroom with a huge bath, a teeny kitchen and living area. Outside is a deck with table and chairs and a summerhouse with the recycling bags and washing machine. It was fine for two of us for a few days -- I can't imagine feeding a family of four there! We only had our breakfasts there and ate out for our other meals. The sofa had seen better days, but generally the rest of the furniture was fine. Bed was comfortable. The owners were friendly and helpful. We didn't know the area at all, so a bit more info on how to get into Cardiff (there is a park & ride by train from Pencoed, but we didn't find out until after we'd been), where the best local pub is, the nearest supermarket, etc, would be very helpful. The leaflets in the cottage were quite old -- presumably left by previous guests."

"Expected good got great.Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, this is a well-appointed and very well presented terrace cottage. Plenty of room for a family of 6, four adults and two children. Laminate flooring throughout downstairs with carpeted stairs and bedrooms. Comfortable lounge with dining area at one end, fully equipped modern kitchen. Two good-sized bedrooms, one set as a double one as a twin for us, both have zip together mattresses so could be double or twin, additionally a smaller bunk bedded room. All bedrooms have hanging and drawer space. Toilet with shower completes upstairs.Very pleasant owners (who live locally) seem to have thought of everything you could need, meet guests on arrival and provide a welcome hamper. There is also a major supermarket and local shopping.Good base for exploring."

"The Coach House is a fantastic, quirky, comfortable cottage. I came with my husband, two children and dog for holiday. The beds were very comfortable, the cottage is in a peaceful location and we all enjoyed the Jacuzzi! The complementary use of dressing gowns was very welcome. The Coach House is well located for exploring the Afan Forest (great for mountain biking), waterfall country and the Brecon Beacons as well as being conveniently located in-between Cardiff and Swansea. Our children particularly enjoyed seeing baby lambs leaping past the windows. The Coach House has everything you need to cook a family meal and eat either inside or outside on the decking outside the summer house. Catherine (the owner) was really helpful offered the children toys or dvds if we needed. We will be back!"

"The location is disappointing particularly as the outside space is small for the size of the house, totally on view to a main road and surrounded by busy terraced roads making parking very difficult, not the best placed to let children out to play. The immediate local area has rubbish strewn everywhere including industrial fly tipping. The saving grace is that within 20 minutes drive you are in the most beautiful countryside. The house itself is spectacular and perfect for large family groups with our only complaint being that the cooker was not big/good enough to cook for large groups. The weather did not permit us to use the outside space, so we fully enjoyed the insode space that parc house provides. We would certainly stay here again especially in the winter / spring months."
