"This cottage is in a beautiful location, surrounded by fields regularly visited by deer and rabbits, and it's easy to find, and well placed for visiting much of Central Scotland. It's extremely peaceful and quiet, and while there are no shops in easy walking distance, it's just five minutes drive away from Bridge of Earn, and 15 minutes from Perth. Unfortunately, the cottage itself was a let-down. On the first night, the curtain pole in one bedroom fell down, and it was just luck that my elderly mother hadn't gone to bed yet, as the heavy pole landed on her pillow! The owners did arrange a repair for the Monday, but this meant we had to waste an entire morning waiting in the cottage for the joiner to come and do the repair. We were also told by the owners that they had already known the curtain pole was faulty, so it really should have been done before we arrived. Every one of us found the beds to be brick-hard and deeply uncomfortable, and the pillows very lumpy, so we all felt sore and sleep-deprived by the end of the week! The sofa in the living room seems to be a budget Ikea sort of thing, which feels quite narrow to sit on, and the two armchairs were lumpy, so it was impossible to really relax anywhere. This cottage is perfectly located for those with mobility issues, being all on one level and with easy access, but mobility issues can also mean that you want to spend a wee bit more time relaxing in the holiday accommodation, and the budget soft furnishings in this cottage meant that was impossible. The kitchen was constantly full of flies, so much so that preparing food meant constantly flapping flies away from the food, then hurrying through to the lounge with it to eat, as it would be impossible to eat at the kitchen table without the flies getting to your food before you! It's understandable that there will be lots of bugs in the area when you're surrounded by fields, but it would be a big improvement to find out where the flies are gaining access and block it up. The kitchen could also have benefited from some more equipment - there were enough pots and pans, but not a single baking tray to use in the oven. With some money spent to install properly comfy beds and sofa/armchairs, and the flies' access cut off, this would be a perfect wee holiday cottage, but the budget feel of the furnishings and equipment really let it down. It ended up being the most uncomfortable self catering accommodation we've ever had, and though we loved the area and the tranquillity of the setting, we would never book this cottage again."

"Excellent accommodation - If we were in the area again I would go back, so don't let any of the following put you off!Excellent kitchen (but see below**) - any piece of machinery you could imagine and loads of crockery, cutlery and kitchen devices were included along with a very kind gift of a couple of bottles of wine (thank you). Very comfortable armchairs and a TV which excited the techno-conscious members of our party. Heating, decor. etc. wonderful. Beds of a high standard (i.e. not the 'roll into the middle beds' often found in holiday rentals). Large garden which would suit playing in (too cold and wet when we were there)The photo of the frontage (and the word 'cottage') lead me to believe that the property was somewhat isolated and that there was significantly large parking space. The bungalow is, in fact, part of a small development and attached directly to another bungalow - there are two parking spaces. That said, this detail did not affect our enjoyment of the facilities.**May we suggest the addition of (i) a saucepan between miniature and cauldron size and (ii) a frying pan/saute pan of slightly greater dimension than the only one we could find."

"This was a lovely cottage on both inside and out. Beautifully decorated, modern interior, cosy log fire and comfortable beds. The only drawback was the lengthy access road - don’t underestimate this, it really is a bumpy ride up to the cottage. There are no footpath walks from the cottage and there are no shops in walking distance so you have to negotiate this pothole filled road every time you want to go out.The second thing for me was the far from peaceful location situated yards from the very busy dual carriageway A9/M9. Heavy traffic all day and most of night. I wish we’d been warned in advance. For getting to places of course this road is a huge advantage so if car/lorry whooshing sends you to sleep then this is the place for you. Scottish scenery in the hills and forests is breathtaking as are the lochs - so that saved the day for us."

"The cottage was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable and the location was excellent. We could have easily spent another week exploring Fife, Perthshire, Speyside, Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh without running out of new places to visit. One of our party was disabled and the facilities for her were particularly good. There were three small steps down to the sitting room which would make it less suitable for a wheelchair user, but it is very good for someone with just a bit of difficulty walking, or difficulty with stairs. Most of the cottage, including a huge kitchen diner was on the flat, the short flight of stairs had good strong handrails on both sides and there was a fully adapted shower with a chair which was excellent. It was a really excellent cottage and we had a very nice week. Sept 2008."

"S79222 is a modern well appointed unit having been recently constructed. It has an oven, 4 rings, a microwave and a fridge. There is a massive 48inch Sony TV with basic sky channels. There is also a very futuristic Sony dvd player.Numerous dvds are available to view. There is WiFi but it is a dial up connection. The owners Mary and Brian are fantastic people and several items were provided as a welcome pack. Greatly appreciated. The only shop in Bankfoot is a Nissa but it is extremely well stocked. The Perthshire visitors centre is close by with a retail shop and restaurant.Bankfoot is only 8 miles from Perth and Handy for Pitlochry, Dunkeld, Crieff and Balmoral.WE thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at S79222 and would hope to return again sometime."
