"Perfect spot if like us you want quiet, views and comfort, it's a stunning view. Kitchen is very well equipped for self catering, any eateries or nightlife are quite a distance, not walkable, but that's what we wanted. The owners leave you to yourself, but are happy to help you if needed. We didn't, everything went smoothly, including the very precise directions to S71538. It is a great location for A66 Ullswater, Keswick, Derwentwater and the Western Lakes, all of which we can highly recommend. Dodd Woods and the Dodd Summit walk are a must for the view. Walking Derwentwater and the frequent boat service, when you have had enough, taking you back to your car, is great. The southern end, the Chinese Bridge andclockwise round to Derwent Marina, a must. As is the drive through the Honister Pass, stunning. The only thing that would make the S71538 score 10 throughout is wifi. The phone signal is iffy too, but it was strangely good to be without iPads and internet for a few days. (Always free internet in the many lovely cafes in Keswick)"

"Fantastic property location & superb standard of accommodation conversion using a very small space in a very clever manner. Very professional set up absolutely everything had been thought of even essential toiletries in case anything had been overlooked when packing for the visit & dressing gowns ! Great base for Ullswater & Derwentwater visits. Fantastic garden with masses of birds & even a red squirrel. Welcome basket was amazing included still warm from the oven home made bread, home made shortbread, bottle of wine, etc. Hope to visit again for a lovely relaxing break - can’t get a better recommend than wanting a return trip. We didn’t use the facility, but owners even offer to make evening meals for reheating. May 2012. "

"Me and my girlfriend recently spent a week at S18646 at Sparket Mill and absolutely loved it. S18646 is very cosy with wooden floors and visible beams etc. and also well equipped with everything we needed in terms of utensils, cutlery & crockery etc. There is a good DVD collection too.The owner also left us a lovely hamper of wine and homemade breads which were very nice.On our first morning we were greeted by a red squirrel in the garden as well as pheasants and all sorts of other birds. We found the location to be perfect for our needs as it was only 10 - 15 mins drive to Keswick or Penrith, and we even walked down to Pooley Bridge one day.We would definitely stay here again and will be checking the availability next year."

"Such a wonderful little Studio to spend our holiday. It was very cosy and comfortable with modern amenities. The location is ideal to use as a base for a new walking adventure everyday. The kind owners left us a hamper of goodies upon our arrival which was much appreciated. The book shelf is well stocked with walking literature and maps which we found very useful and fueled our desire to explore. I would highly recommend this cottage to all those looking for comfortable, cosy setting that is suitably located within the Lake District . It was a beautiful stay. Thank You and Kind Regards to the thoughtful owners."

"S25993 is a lovely stone cottage, in a quiet rural setting (horses in the field behind the house). The back overlooks the fells around Ullswater -- we watched the mists and clouds and rain come and go, and were blessed with a couple golden sunny evenings as well. Great location for exploring the Lake district, Hadrian's wall, and water-sports on Ullswater. Many thoughtful touches in the house, and having a drier was especially helpful as our week was more wet than dry. Wood stove also very welcome on cool evenings (even with heating a stone cottage can be chilly!)."
