"My overall rating for this property is 2. I would love to give a good review but I can't. I wish I'd read all the reviews rather than relying on just the review rating before booking. One of the main reasons for booking this cottage was that it was advertised as being detached, but it isn't. It is attached to next door by the owners "office" which someone seemed to be using most days. As this cottage is the owners actual home they had moved into the summer house at the end of the garden and were always pottering about the place. This included entering the property when we were out to turn on the central heating which had been turned off at the start of the holiday. The property description states there is use of a freezer and dvd player this is also incorrect. There was no dvd player, we could have taken one with us if we had known, so had to buy one and the freezer had a lock fitted as it contained the owners food. Luckily he was willing to let us use it because we had taken food for the freezer with us. The one and only shower we could use was adequate but need the head cleaning as very little water came out.The one saving grace for this property is the location as there are so many places to visit without having to travel too far."

"The cottage itself is beautiful and has been furnished to a high standard (what we have come to expect from Snaptrip!). Only a few small niggles; there are no keys for the patio doors into the garden. You can use the side door but part of the reason for picking this property was the thought of throwing open the doors in the living room and getting all cosy! Some of the kitchenware is not of great quality - the knives for example were terrible! Not a problem if you aren't planning to cook (alas we were). It wouldn't take much to bring some of these items up to the same quality as the rest of the cottage. Finally the welcome hamper looked like it had seen better days! The juice was out of date and the grapes were on the turn. Location is wonderful! Two beautiful pubs are within minutes and the food is well worth a visit (some of the best food we have eaten). Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful cottage."

"We received a lovely welcome on arriving at Hunter's Cottage, with a local food hamper and on our first morning we met Janet, the house keeper who throughout our stay was friendly helpful and attentive. The cottage is situated in picturesque Clanfield not far from Witney and convenient for walking including along the nearby Thames Path. There are lots of gorgeous pubs and picturesque villages nearby as well as Oxford and Woodstock. A real bonus was that the cottage backs onto a field where the sheep were about to have their lambs and we were able to watch as the shepherd came by regularly to check on them. The cottage itself is stylishly designed, light, well equipped and comfortable. It was so lovely that despite all the things on offer locally to do, it was nice at times just to enjoy being there. We couldn't recommend it too highly and would definitely like to return in future."

"Lovely quaint cottage on a working farm. Cosy and warm and situated in an idyllic village setting. Quintessentialy English. Located close to Brize Norton military air base so for you plane nuts, lots of close up sights of fast jets and transporters. Excellent. Mr and Mrs Walker were extremely accommodating, and left us a very nice welcoming bottle of wine, and a bottle of milk was in the fridge for a welcomed cup of tea after a long car journey. The area abounds with fabulous pubs, restaurants and takeaways in Lechlade. We would definitely return. Good value for money."
