"The cottage has neighbours that it shares a garden with. The neighbours were constantly outside as they were refurbishing their building so there was little privacy, and lots of background noise. Each room had cobwebs and we had to dispose of multiple house-spiders over our two night stay. There is only a baby belling oven in the cottage and when we tried to use the oven to heat food the whole cottage was filled with smoke from the oven. There is no door on the kitchen to stop the smell of cooking/ smoke from the oven from filling the main part of the cottage, and the extractor fan sounded with a high pitched squeal when used and started to struggle to extract at all.I booked this cottage as I thought it would be nice to sit in the conservatory and look at the stars after the sun went down. The streetlight right opposite to the conservatory put pay to any thoughts of that happening. I was very disappointed by my experience at S14647."

"Great spacious cottage which is well equipped. Good kitchen fitted with washing machine, dishwasher and tumble dryer plus an excellent sized fridge freezer. We loved the lounge with large comfortable sofa and chairs and when there was nothing worth watching on the TV you can switch to the web cams situated around the farm and watch out for wildlife. We saw 3 barn owls and a fox. The cottage has decent internet which was an added bonus. The location of the cottage is great if you want to venture into Scotland as the border is only a few minutes away and Jedburgh, Kelso and Melrose are within easy reach.A note of caution is that there are no real local amenities and on the route north that we took there wasn't a single petrol station. However there is a petrol station and shops in Jedburgh which is 10 miles away."

"This cottage is a stone barn recently converted to a high standard. For the two of us and our small dog, there was plenty of room and a self contained garden for the dog.Very clean and tidy.Good safe parking. The Cottage was located in the middle of the village with a very nice pub just a short walk away. There was also a village shop with a cafe which was well worth a visit. (As this was a fairly new barn conversion there was some of the decoration needed 'snagging') The only down side of the location was for us as keen hill walkers, due to the very large Army Otterburn training area, there was a fair distance to get into the near by Cheviot hills and moorland. That said there are local walks. Towards the end of our two week holiday the weather turned wet and cold but the cottage proved to be warm and cosy."

"S37793 was perfect for our family weekend away, Alison and Dean were really attentive to our needs double checking with us exactly what we would need for not just the adults but my three children as well, everything was perfect from start to finish from the furniture provided for my 5 month old (cot/high chair and stair gates) to the books and board games for my 9 and 6 year old. The cottage is ideally located for a wedding we were attending at woodhill hall, it is beautifully decorated, warm and very cosy, it is perfect for young families as the layout means we could easily keep an eye on the little ones and having an extra toilet was a God send!! The horses in the next field were also a highlight along with the beautiful garden. We will certainly visit again."

"Location was good for us as we were out every day & had a family wedding to attend in Hexham. However there were no amenities onsite & lots of building work to new lodges. Lake advertised was not as expected. Hot tub was not let down prior to our visit or that clean throughout our stay. Toilet seat kept coming off in main bathroom, I fixed it. Bin was broken in kitchen & shower head in ensuite was split so couldn't use without water spraying over top of shower screen & soaking everything. Did contact owners to inform them there were no spare keys as described in welcome pack & that bin was already broken. Didn't bother them with other stuff in the end as we were out but not the point. Unsure it was worth nearly a grand for the week?"
