What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In Otterburn To Rent.

"The cottage has neighbours that it shares a garden with. The neighbours were constantly outside as they were refurbishing their building so there was little privacy, and lots of background noise. Each room had cobwebs and we had to dispose of multiple house-spiders over our two night stay. There is only a baby belling oven in the cottage and when we tried to use the oven to heat food the whole cottage was filled with smoke from the oven. There is no door on the kitchen to stop the smell of cooking/ smoke from the oven from filling the main part of the cottage, and the extractor fan sounded with a high pitched squeal when used and started to struggle to extract at all.I booked this cottage as I thought it would be nice to sit in the conservatory and look at the stars after the sun went down. The streetlight right opposite to the conservatory put pay to any thoughts of that happening. I was very disappointed by my experience at Hopesley cottage."

"The Hemmel is a beautiful well equipped cottage in what appears beautiful surroundings but the area itself we found to be very anti dog. We found that we had to travel to the coast to be able to let our very well behaved dogs off the lead, the nearest dog friendly place was Cragside at Rothbury (Stunning) and a very dog friendly pub that served good food was The Market Tavern at Alnwick. There are also some stunning Castles with grounds but unfortunately we were unable to visit even the grounds because we had our dogs with us and unable to leave them in the car for any length of time due to the warm weather. For anyone without dogs it could have been the perfect place but unfortunately not for us. We shall go back to Cumberland or North Yorkshire in the future where we are guaranteed to be made welcome along with our dogs."

"We stayed here from 14th February 2015 through to the 21st February. The cottage was lovely and the views amazing! The garden was ideal for our dog and he enjoyed watching the sheep in the adjoining fields. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. If I had to comment on anything it would be the bathroom which does not have a bath, this was no problem for us but should a family with young children be staying, they would struggle to wash the children in the shower which was tight. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return in the future. The locals are very friendly and we would recommend popping into the Impromptu cyclist cafe in Elsdon village, lovely people and nice food."

"We stayed for 1 week, but could have easily stayed on for another with lots to do in the surrounding area. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts and then entertained by our animal companions via the linked cameras to the barn owls, feeders and pond. The house is a great base for exploring the Scottish borders, Otterburn Ranges, round to the Cheviots, and to Kielder Forest. It was a warm and cosy retreat on wetter days too - the kind of place you can feel very comfortable in.It does require a bit of forward planning to get provisions sorted, so remeber to pack the basics and stop off at one of at a good local butchers and other purvayors of locally produced food and you won't go wrong!"

"Arrived to find had changed name to the snug but once new name advised and lodge located we were able to locate and settled in quickly. Lodge was Very well equipped and hot tub ready on arrival. Sitting in a hot tub during a snowstorm was awesome. Paths are bit of a mud bath at present due to building work (new lodges getting built near by) sure will be fine once complete. But in the country in april so had suitable footwear anyway. Local village shop/pub only 20 min walk and Redesdale pub short drive was very friendly with lovely food. Lodge was modern and welcome basket a lovely touch."
