The markets of Oswestry are award-winning. Speciality markets take place throughout the year and the monthly Artisan Market is very popular. On a stroll through town, you’ll also find a great selection of independent shops. History buffs should take in the church, castle or one of the museums. A peaceful town, but with plenty to see and do, Oswestry is a relaxing place to enjoy a holiday.

"A lovely place run by lovely people. The accommodation is all on one level above a tearoom, with just a hedge separating the canal that runs along side. The balcony gives lovely views across the fields and canal and there are so many different birds, including Tawny owls. A ten minute walk along the towpath under the little bridge will bring you to the Navigation pub, or walk another twenty five or so to the Queens Head (ten minutes by car). We ate three times at the Queens Head and the food was very excellent. They serve food 12pm-9pm pretty much every day, so ideal for families like us who aren't great at organising our day.The Navigation pub isn't open an often, but I popped in for a pint on a couple of evenings and found it a friendly place, with many people commenting on how good the food was. Oswestry is close by with about four supermarkets. The Morrisons also has a petrol station.S82994 is run by Iain and Fiona, who are both lovely and real grafters. The coffee, cake, scones etc. were all excellent and all the food was home made I believe. We were able to use one of their canoes for a day which was great fun.We had a great time and hope to be back."

"Stayed here in the middle of the heatwave and the pool was a valuable asset. Was great as we could book sessions so could teach grandson to swim without distractions etc which was great. Emma was quick to supply to us with a fan to ensure the heat was not a problem. We moan when its hot and we moan when its cold......Everything you need was in the house and the games area and outdoor play space was great even in the heat. Stair gate provided at the bottom of stairs so is fixed. Showers were hot and nice large kitchen to eat in. TV and DVD to keep you amused and if you want to pop out then whitchurch is close by and shops easy to access.Fresh Milk and Tea and Coffee provided by Emma and James so overall was easy and enjoyable - would go again without doubt"

"We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin has all you need. Its not very big, but has lovely cotton sheets, its very clean and basics (tea, coffee, sugar and loo roll!), washing-up liquid etc., towels and tea towels are all provided. Great parking. The owners are friendly and Mike is very helpful (I'm sure Val is too but we only met her once). The location is in a very peaceful valley, little traffic (none by the cabin) and spectacular views. The main reason to stay here though is the view from the cabin. Right by the river, we spent hours watching the cows, the sheep and the antics of the lambs and we saw so many birds we had not seen before. (Mike and Val provide a book for identification)."

"Upon arrival we were greeted by Mike & Val who were very friendly, Mike showed us around the property and explained all it's well fitted out equipment. The cottage was very cosy and we felt very comfortable, especially with the fantastic view. Mike & Val couldn’t have been more helpful, top marks. The area and views are fantastic with very friendly locals, the two pubs, that really are two minutes walk were also very friendly with good food and beer. Drives to Bala through the Tanat Valley were magnificent, must get an in car camera to capture it. We will definitely be returning to this lovely spot again, but don’t ell every one we want to keep it secret. Great place and lovely owners."

"I was looking for relaxing, stress free, peaceful and home from home place to stay after a very stressful 7 weeks for my partner and myself and after looking at other cabins and area's i came across this lovely little cabin in Wales, for some reason i was drawn to it and just knew i had to go, i booked only 3 nights and wish i had stayed for longer it was perfect, from start to finish, from collecting the keys from the lovely Mike to forgetting to tell him and his lovely wife Val where i had left them when we said goodbye !!! went to quick i have only just got home and i miss the tranquil beauty of the view from the cabin and the people that live there, will defo be going back !!!!"
