What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Wiltshire To Rent.

"S78767 is one of the highest quality cottages we have stayed in for almost 40 years. A great deal of thought has gone into the planning and execution of this delightful conversion of old farm buildings. The highest quality materials and fittings have been used throughout, and it is warm and comfortable with underfloor heating which may be individually controlled in each room to suit personal requirements. There is also plenty of hot water throughout the day and a wood-burning stove in the lounge for those cold winter nights. Cleanliness is of the highest order. It is well equipped for two people, with a modern ceramic hob and fan oven, good quality appliances, utensils, crockery, fridge freezer, washer/dryer, and a dishwasher. The decor and furnishings are modern, high quality, comfortable, and very pleasing to the eye. There is the latest connected flatscreen tv and a reliable WiFi connection for your online needs. A gravel-covered parking area at the front of the cottage in the farmyard provides room enough for two cars. Also there is easy access to the M4 at junction 17, which is no more than 10 minutes away. The farm is surrounded by the wonderful North Wiltshire countryside with opportunities for walking and a pub lunch in one of the nearby villages. The owners are very warm and welcoming, and also very helpful should the need arise. If you wish to stay in the area around Chippenham I would strongly recommend that you give this cottage a try."

"An excellent cottage that is exceptionally well equipped, with a modern yet sympathetic decor, decorated to a high standard. Everything seems to have been thought of, especially in terms of the 'mod cons', such as a bluetooth speaker, that are often lacking in cottages. The bedrooms are surprisingly spacious, each with a double bed of various sizes, and decorated in their own style. Our only obvious gripe was that it wasn't an especially warm cottage, even with the heating turned up. When we visited in February we often struggled to stay warm when sat on the sofa. The wood fire is a nice touch and certainly helps, but cannot be relied upon especially if, like us, you're not very good at making a fire. Likewise, the parking could be an issue for some as there is none available outside the cottage. The nearest is the allotment parking approximately 100 yards up the lane. It's not far to walk by any means, and there's access to it from either the rear or front of the cottage, but some may struggle when laden down with belongings/suitcases/children at the start/end of the trip. That said, it really wasn't an issue for us, merely a minor inconvenience. Both of us and our dog enjoyed our stay, and we would definitely visit again."

"Where to start? The owner lives in the property and it was full of her stuff, multiple rooms and cupboards locked, shower and jacuzzi bath not working properly. The carpets covered in rugs, 50 of them dotted throughout the house. Garden furniture stored in the hallway, and outside hadn't been tended to for months. All external flower tubs and hanging baskets full of dead plants and the gardens totally overgrown with another hoard of stuff on the patio covered in an old torn blue tarpaulin and decking on top. Frankly, it was awful and nowhere the usual standard of Snaptrip. We were really disappointed and then annoyed that this property was even regarded as rentable. The owner was still cleaning when we arrived at just gone 4pm and she didn't leave until 6pm when we helped her to load up her car. Simply not good enough!"

"We stayed at the S123301 for a week, we were two adults and two teenagers. The cottage is to a very high standard, well equipped and very clean. More importantly it has bags of character and is very comfortable. I liked the dining area where we had family meals looking out on the countryside. There are two sitting areas, ideal when you need you own space. We did not find the road an issue, it is not particularly busy and there is room to stand and see both ways making crossing over to the car very safe. The cottage is perfectly located with two pubs and a village store just a small walk away up the canal paths. There is a lovely log burning stove, although with under floor heating it was used for its character rather than warmth."

"Our party of four had a very comfortable stay next to the canal, where there was always something going on. The owners were very helpful in checking in and out and provided lots of local information in the cottage. It is one of only a few places in the area that allow dogs to stay; this is really good as the walks along the canal are ideal for that morning exercise. The proximity of the road when coming out of the gate could be a problem for small children as you step out directly onto the tarmac, but there are adequate warnings in the booking information. There are a number of pubs nearby and we can recommend The Bridge, just 10 minutes walk along the towpath. We will definitely stay again when in the area."
