What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Shropshire To Rent.

"We had a family gathering (8 adults, 6 children and 2 dogs) to celebrate a 70th birthday. We loved the spaciousness of the property - the beds were comfortable and it was spotlessly clean.Being a historic listed building, there was not the level of "luxury" one might get in other places, but perfectly adequate. The older children used the internet service extensively, though this was subject to speed restrictions, which caused some frustration. The outdoor table-tennis was a surprise - and we had the beautiful weather to use it.We were pleased that our visit coincided with one of the 6 days a year when the NT part of the house was open to the public - a real bonus. The road access had rather a lot of potholes, but this is not unexpected in a farm track."

"We picked this cottage initially because of its location in Shropshire and because we could take our dog. It was early October and we hit the weather perfectly. Lesley and Steve prestocked the fridge with a few necessities and we lit the wood burning stove ready for settling in later. But first we took a trip into nearby Church Stretton for an evening meal (fish and chips!). Shropshire is a beautiful county with some amazing sights and views which shouldn't be missed. There are also plenty of places to eat and drink plus good shopping. We take most of our holidays in UK and visit a different county every year, but I'm sure we will be back here before long."

"We had a lovely weekend staying here. We hit a very cold weekend in March and the large farmhouse was lovely and warm but the lounge was quite draughty. It would help to have curtains up at all windows. There was just one window without curtains. We also suffered a power cut and although this was quite common for the area there was only one torch. As it caters for large groups it would have been helpful for additional torches or battery candle lights. The house was generally well equipped.Directions to find the house were good and the owner easily contacted. He was happy to give information regarding local area."

"Very spacious house, plenty of room for our party of 10 plus baby. The house was very quiet and noise didn’t carry, which was excellent. The gardens were very spacious and as we were very lucky with hot sunny weather every day, we spent much of our time in the gardens playing table tennis or other games or just chilling. We could have done with a second kettle for that number of people, and the one we had had a broken lid. We could have done with some trays in the kitchen. You do really need a car to get around as there weren’t any walks which start from the house."

"Comfortable and warm with lots of character, and thoughtfully fitted out with everything you need, including a wonderful welcome pack of goodies from the helpful friendly owners. Near to the lovely little market town of Church Stretton with its individual shops including Mr Bun the Baker - great coffee, cakes and bread. The whole area is fantastic for walking, even from the cottage. If walking isn’t your thing, there is lots of interest within easy reach, Ironbridge, Blists Hill Victorian Village, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Much Wenlock etc. Would thoroughly recommend."
