"We've just returned from a week in the cottage, which sleeps up to four in two bedrooms - we were a smaller group of 3 + one dog. We chose this property for the location in a village with good amenities, as well as the secure entrance yard. We also had planned to travel with another couple, who would take the adjoining cottage, so this setting would work really well for a bigger group who wanted to maintain someone privacy or separate space. The village is beautiful and you have two parks, village shop, excellent butchers and two pubs within easy walking of the cottage. With small log burner, lots of space in the cottage lounge and dining spaces and two good sized bedrooms, this was a great choice for us. One long corridor connects all the spaces which gives lots of room for shoes, hanging space for coats. There was a great selection of DVDs fot cosy movie nights in and books to read. The parking space behind the cottage was perfect for us, even though the road nearby is quite quiet.Location is really well connected for travelling the area, visiting the Cairngorms, St Andrews, Pitlochry, Stirling, etc. and regular trains from Cupar (5miles away) mean you can choose not to drive. We’ll definitely be back again - a week wasn't long enough to see everything! :)"

"This is a really beautiful place to stay. Everything in the house is in great condition and it is beautifully decorated. We were given a lovely welcome pack on arrival and a personal welcome the day after arrival. There is a play room in the house and another in the garage next door for young children and table tennis for the big 'kids'. The location was a bit tricky for us as the last 5-10 minutes to the property is via a single rocky track and we only have a little car but it is worth it for the peace, quiet, views and all the rabbits, birds and deer we had practically on the doorstep. There are many wonderful places to explore in the Scottish Borders which are full of beauty, history and interest and the Edinburgh park and ride was only 30 minutes away. The owners and previous visitors have made sure there are plenty of resources available to help you plan your trip upon arrival. I would 100% recommend a stay at S43953 and a holiday in the Scottish Borders. Please note: you cannot drink the water at this property as the supply comes from a borehole. Some bottled water is provided but I would recommend stocking up if you drink a lot like us as the nearest supermarket is 25- 30 minutes away! Water pressure however is fabulous for showers and bubble baths."

"Amazing, beautiful character cottage. We had a wonderful holiday in S43953 and hope to go back soon. Everything you could ever wish for and more. Very cosy open plan living room with a lovely log burner. Great for families with fantastic playroom with lots of toys and games. Also brilliant games room with table tennis and more great toys to keep kids amused. Great garden with a sandpit also for children. Our kids loved it and we were able to relax as they were so happy. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable beds, plenty of towels. Lots of added extras and wee gifts that made the trip very special. The surrounding area was beautiful and so tranquil. There was an abundance of wildlife including many deer and birds of prey. A real getaway for complete relaxation and rejuvenation. A great central based cottage making it easy to visit local villages like Peebles and Melrose and North Berwick. Lots of scenic walks and nice restaurants in nearby villages too. We really cant fault S43953, it surpassed our expectations and is the best place we have ever stayed as a family for a holiday. Cant recommend it highly enough. Thank you to the owners for all the special touches."

"I had a very comfortable weekend stay with my dog. The cottage is just round the corner from the Links seafront and ideal for dog walking and general walking and access to the beach. Also many town food outlets and pub/restaurants in easy walking distance. During my stay I appreciated the quiet location despite being on a main street. The cottage feels like a detached house although "attached" to a property next door on one wall. Well equipped and with good Wi-fi and Blu-ray player a bonus. Lighting could be better in some areas especially the kitchen and lounge. I was comfortable but a large group might find the kitchen seating restrictive for main meals. The patio table at front of house not ideal for main meals. Easy parking on street round the corner - parking right outside only really suitable for loading/unloading due to near blind corner and no pavement. I would stay again and recommend for up to 4 adults or 2 adults/3 kids if eating in. Double bed and bathroom on ground level - stair not good for disabled. Shower room and 2 bright and airy bedrooms upstairs."

"Stayed at cottage from 6th July-13th July, location, scenery and hot tub fabulous although hot tub was not the cleanest when we arrived although my husband had mentioned this concern to owners after reading previous visitors reviews. They ought to be maintaining hot tub daily especially when a party of 6 as we were are using it daily. The cottage itself was a huge disappointment 😔 back bedrooms bed is badly broken and expect a visit to chiropractors after your stay. Extractor for cooker not working, dining table leg broken, one of single beds broken, practically no running hot water in bathroom sink and not much power in shower. No bike shed as stated, front bedroom wardrobe doors broken, bbq filthy on arrival, hoover smelt of wet dog which was absolutely disgusting also musty smell in bedroom cupboard aswell as throughout whole cottage on arrival. Overall was really dissatisfied would recommend overhaul and replacement of many items especially the hoover. In no way good value for money costing much more than it’s worth. Certainly would not be returning 😡😡"
