What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Saxmundham To Rent.

"Wow, what a lovely old cottage to stay in. So much character and lots of history about the cottage in the information pack which is very interesting. We stayed during the time of the snow and it was great to be snowed in! The owner was very understanding and offered us to stay on if we couldn't get home which was very reassuring to know. Everything is there that you need, very well equipped and the huge fireplace with the open fire just made our stay that much better. The room doesn't get smoky from the fire if you follow the guidelines on how to light it, we got it down to a fine art and it was so cosy. The garden was great for the dog she loved it. The only thing I wished we had was a pub within walking distance during the snowy weather but then there is one just over a mile away which would be a nice walk in better weather. If you are looking for a character cottage in a great location within easy reach of the coast and for all the family this is for you. We have stayed in a lot of holiday cottages and this really is one of our top ones to stay in, we loved it."

"On arrival the property was dirty; kitchen floor had not be swept or mopped in some time; kitchen all greasy and the oven and microwave both filthy. Whole property smelt where it has not be cleaned properly in a long time; both toilets dirty as was the bath and bathroom sink. Bed linen and towels provided were clean. Mattress on double bed is very uncomfortable and all the springs could be felt through out. We arrived after 5pm and had no mobile phone signal to call any of the numbers supplied to complain so we ended up cleaning the kitchen and bathroom just so we could stay for two nights, but came home early as we couldn't face a third night in the property. We would not return to the property for another stay based on this experience. It's a shame because the cottage has a good layout and could be really nice. It is in a good location for travelling around Suffolk coast and the village is nice and the pub was great."

"We really enjoyed our stay at S26242. The caretaker (owner?) was very friendly and helpful. The location is very good with Minsmere and the Suffolk coast easy to get to. As birdwatchers we loved the pond with its regular kingfisher. The barn owls were a special treat each evening . The cottage is comfortable enough although somewhat eccentric and I guess it could do with a bit of updating. We enjoyed the views from the windows and sitting out in the garden area watching the wildlife. Can recommend the local bakery G&T's for its sausage rolls and wonderful cakes. The village pub is worth a visit. Definitely thinking of going back."

"A comfortable cottage for those seeking solitude in very rural surroundings whilst within 35 minutes of coastal resorts. We loved the setting, the fields and oak trees close by, plus the gardens and woods of the Clock House Estate to wander through or sit in after a day out visiting. A slight concern was the electric heating ect, through meters, and paid for at the end of stay ; this could be quite expensive in cold spells. Overall a pleasant relaxing holiday away from the hurley burley of modern life, with a most helpful Caretaker a 5 minute walk away for any problems or advice on the cottage."

"Very comfortable well-equipped cottage. Really attractive inside and out. Lovely kitchen. Well located for many Suffolk attractions. We loved Aldeburgh and Framingham Castle. If I could be really picky - the big sofa was a bit lumpy and could have been more comfortable. The bed was fine but maybe a king size would be nicer? There is plenty of room in the bedroom for one. And we would like better sitting out facilities - an umbrella and some better chairs. If these things were addressed, the property would definitely be 10 out of 10. As it is, we will very likely be back for another stay."
