What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Normandy To Rent.

"The cottage was lovely mostly, very spacious living and kitchen area, although kitchen had lots of utensils but lacked in the basics such as knives etc. We were a group of six, two couples and our two daughters who were hoping to have separate bedrooms, however upon arrival we found that the advertised twin bedroom was locked up and our daughters had to share a bed which was basically a bed settee, not exactly ideal and wasn't what was we expected, which was quite disappointing. The downstairs bathroom was really quite nice however if you used the shower it completely soaked the whole room. The upstairs shower looked great but only worked on the hand held shower setting and again soaked the whole room. The pillows in the bedrooms weren't brilliant and could do with being replaced. We did have a lovely time but it wasn't exactly as it was advertised and the are things that could be updated."

"A lovely cottage that contains everything that you would need for a holiday. Surrounded by stunning countryside, your nearest neighbours are the owners who are just across the other side of the large garden. They were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful, making sure that everything was ok within the cottage. However, there is only enough comfortable seating for 3 adults in the lounge. Beware of the very low beams and door frames particularly into the en-suite shower room. Although the kitchen had everything we needed, we did feel that it was in need of some maintenance and updating due to wear and tear. You really are a minimum of 4 miles from your nearest shop so you need to be have a car to stay here. The cottage itself really is a picture box cottage and we would definitely return."

"I know the owner having stayed at his other lovely property about 100 yards away a few times which would score 9/10 for everything. Felt like we'd gone back in time here - great location / clean pool (which is heated) which was bonus. Owner is a very nice guy, vwery helpful and both our limited language skills makes communication fun an we can jst about understand each other. 2 bathrooms and toilet are off the kitchen downstairs which is weird - lucky my parents were the other inhabitants with my wife and young daughter. Heating smells of oil and distinct smell of damp particularly in bedrooms and kitchen / bathrooms. Weather was nice enought to sit out and cook and dine al fresco but not sure what ould have happened if we'd had to stay indoors in the rain for a week"

"We very much enjoyed our holiday at La Daugerie. The DVD Player needs replacing but apart from that everything was fine. The grounds are spacious, the heated pool is lovely and the cottage is comfortable enough. Shopping can be done either in Orbec (Carrefour) or Lisieux (Intermarche). The cottage is only a few miles from the motorway, so not too much driving on bendy country roads is required before you get there. The owner is charming and friendly but you need to be able to speak and understand at least basic French. So we would happily stay here again and may well do so!"

"The cottage was beautiful in a very quiet village about 5 to 10 mins drive from Honfleur. The standard of cleanliness and comfort was excellent. The only thing I could say was if we had been six adults the bedroom space in the small room may be a little tight as it has a single bed that pulled out into a double/two singles. We were a party of four adults so didn’t use the small room. The cottage itself was very spacious with plenty of room in the other bedrooms, lounge dining area so I don’t think it would be a major problem."
