"I regret marking this property down a bit as a little effort would improve it. One of the double beds is very difficult for 2 people to share. It is pushed into a corner of the room and has a large wardrobe against half of the foot of the bed. This means that it would be impossible for 2 people to use it without disruption. Fortunately there were only 4 of us and one couple used the twin room which was a tight fit. They used the spare double room as a store/dressing room! The wet room is exactly that! There is nowhere to put a towel without it getting wet and there is nothing to sit on. The wet room floor is pebbles - looks interesting but is uncomfortable on the feet. Do all the taps in the property have to have a different way of turning on? - annoying. There is no excuse for a number of lights not working (some had no bulbs and others had dead bulbs!). It is also dangerous to have a ceiling rose with no cover thus exposing the wiring. There is a 'trench' some of the way along the right hand side of the rear garden and this is a danger to children. There is also an overhanging laburnum tree any part of which is of course poisonous. The photos need to be updated as they are in part misleading. I am sorry to have been critical as we enjoyed our holiday despite the faults of the property. Had there been 6 of us, we would have complained on arrival. Also we did not comment in the Visitors Book because our complaints can easily be remedied by the owner taking more notice of the state of the building. Perhaps he should go there for a weekend with five others and see how well he manages!"

"On the face of it, S72397 is a wonderful barn conversion, but unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. We arrived to find a bag of dirty tea towels outiside the front door, unclean kitchen work surfaces, dirty oven and an infestation of flies. Nevertheless, we decided to clean and deal with the flies ourselves and just make the most of a bad start. However, the barn is situated on a very busy main road and therefore the noise from the traffic is extreme ( night and day ) the entrance is largely made up by glass and as a result it generates heat like a green house and we found that the fly problem was persistent with flies constantly landing on our food and drink. We found the noise, heat and flies unbearable and the final straw came when I opened the drawer next to my bed to discover it full of dirty underwear. Consequently, we left on Wednesday instead of Friday and requested a refund for two nights via the booking agency. We did not inform the owners directly, as we considered them to be unapproachable due to them leaving sarcastic comments in bold writing with exclamation marks next to previous guests constructive feedback in the Guest/Note Book. For example, their reply to the heat problem was don’t put on the fire in summer. We have been holidaying in similar accommodation in excess of 20 years and this is the first time we have left negative feedback. Our suspicion that the owners are not approachable/receptive was justified as they were in denial, inferring that we were liars and refused to offer any form of recompense."

"the owners were very friendly and helpful, the location was brilliant for cycling and visiting norfolk and suffolk. but there is a line dividing rustic from run down, and this crossed it. no proper kitchen cupboards, shower just needed a screen instead of a plastic curtain. the bedroom patio doors were unusable as the patio was decaying and plant growth overgrowing the doors. nothing provided for the log burner, had to ask-" you wont need it "!- well that is my decision, and it did go cold at night. no information in the handbook about nearest doctor/dentist/hospital/how anything worked. archaic water boilers for the kitchen and bathroom, just needed to be on a timer. overall comment- it needed a bit of finishing work and some essential modifications, it just wasnt comfortable. we were glad the weather was good so we were outside most of the time. dont even mention spiders!!!!, but thats normal for norfolk."

"The cottage is compact and well equipped. We were four adults accustomed to our own space so would have found it a bit too "cosy" if there had been seven of us. We stayed during the very cold snap in March and the cottage was very warm and cosy. We hardly used the lovely log burner. The "welcome pack" included basics such as eggs, milk and bread as well as treats. All the basic household items such as dishwasher and washing machine tablets were provided, which we knew before we left home, from a pre-visit telephone conversation. We didn't need to visit a supermarket all week as there are brilliant specialist shops in Sherringham and Cley. Friendly pub in the local village for meals out. Sherringham Park within walking distance. Lovely bracing walking along the cliffs and a great base to explore North East Norfolk."

"Although we expected the main barn to be a little dusty and have some cobwebs etc we did not expect the newer parts of the accommodation to be as dirty as they were. The kitchen, bathrooms and hallway could do with a deep cleanse or total updating. The cooker needs to be replaced and the dishwasher was not used by us as it still had remnants of the previous renters dinner in the bottom of it. Also it would have been nice to know that on occasion you will share the barn with a bat or two, we wondered what was flying around our heads and low and behold they were bats which eventually disappeared up in to the eaves by the fire flue, good job they don’t worry us but they may do others.Best part is the holiday was the lovely walks and for dinner out please do not miss “The Inn On The Green “, fantastic food and hosts."
