"Stayed with my family for a Christmas get together and S14415 was perfect! They have gone to a lot of extent to make you feel at home from the moment you walk in! When you first get there you think you are in the middle of nowhere but in fact the location is perfect with only a small drive away from Alnwick and the seaside not far after that. Thrunton Woods being right on the door step was perfect for our little pooch we only did a small walk (due to the December chills) but looks like a very well maintained wood! The house was massive and enough space for 7 of us. The back garden was plenty again our pooch liked it. Maybe could benefit from a hot tub to watch the stars in at night? The log burners made the December much more bareable!Thank you also for the chocolates it was a lovely touch! Will defiantly be coming back!"

"Had a lovely week to celebrate a 50th birthday. The Cottage is well equipped and clean spacious and a touch of luxury inside, lovely bedrooms and on suite shower. Towels and Bed Linen excellent. Owners left chocolates and a small plant as a welcome this was a nice touch. The kitchen was well equipped as were all rooms. Some areas for improvement there needs to be a more toilet rolls we ran out and there were 2 of us.. this was also mentioned in a previous review, the largeTV in one room had no signal therefore couldn't use. There were no batteries in the small TV remote in kitchen. The radio wasn't good either. However we didn't visit to watch TV. The price range was top of my budget. The garden was nice too. There are local shops and a garage 4 miles from location. Beaches around 15 miles."

"Very comfortable cottage. Wood pellet stove on slightly chilly evenings a real plus, and great for hot water. Good supply of maps, books, DVDs etc, plus a folder of thoughtful and very useful information and trip suggestions from the owners. Beautifully decorated, comfortably furnished, spacious kitchen and living room. Nice spaces in front and back garden, with a lovely flower patch in front. Nearest, and good, shops a mile away, you can walk, bike (in shed), bus (one an hour; stop near the cottage) or drive there. Wonderful views of fields, beach and sea. Good links to the whole county - A1 just a mile away but no traffic noise. Also plenty of very interesting places pretty well on the doorstep."

"A comfortable and well equipped, very clean cottage. Having stayed in a lot of cottages it is one of the cleanest we've stayed in. The only downsides were that the road it is beside is very fast, national speed limit, and cars and tractors roar past which is noisy at times and with it being August the farmers were working late into the night up and down the road. The owners can't do anything about this but something to bear in mind if booking. The garden is also a short distance from the house and whilst completely contained, if booking with a small child you cannot see the garden from the house so again something to consider. Other than these minor issues we would recommend."

"We enjoyed our stay in the cottage and the kitchen/sitting room were lovely as was the upstairs bedroom and bathrooms. The twin bedded room was a little stuffy and as it was on the main road it wasn't sensible to open the window (which was hard to get at). The dining room/conservatory downstairs wasn't somewhere we used - we ate at the breakfast bar to save carrying plates etc downstairs. The walled garden also wasn't somewhere we used for the same reason as the downstairs dining room.Having said that, if we were going back to Seahouses (which we won't be as we like to go somewhere different every year), we wouldn't rule out S14676."
