What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Highland To Rent.

"Balintore has an award winning beach ,some nice walks and is close to some lovely towns and visitor attractions making it a nice area in which to stay. The house is a strange mix with a large kitchen and upstairs lounge which are quite pleasant. The bedrooms and bathrooms suffer from relatively poor quality/overused bedding and towels and an investment in these and improved curtains would improve things. Some of the windows appear to be locked with no keys apparent which could represent a bit of a fire risk. The Aga and central heating allowed us to enjoy good warmth.Mr Skinner, the owner , was friendly, attentive and well intentioned. Were he to invest as suggested, to improve certain quality items, the justification of the relatively high weeks rental would be enhanced. The house has potential but needs some monies spent on it."

"The cottage was a little run down and deff needed a little tlc. The view was amazing and although it was away from all amenities this was what we wanted. My main issue was the wasp nests within the house. I had very young children who were stung on more than 1 occasion. This meant they spent the week terrified and i was thankfull neither were allergic. I spoke to the caretakers who did come to deal with the issue but only spraying wasp spray around the entrance of the nests this went on for 3 days and they never actually dealt with the overall issue. I went mid July so I dont believe that was the first they knew about the wasps and this should have been dealt with prior to any1 getting there and dealt with professionally. I got the impression they weren't interested."

"The cottage was in a great location - only 10 mins walk from a very friendly pub and handy shop. There's loads to do in the area - we were 2 families with 4 kids, so lots of walks nearby and cycle rides were great. Going up to the forest for a wander at the back of the house was lovely, and stunning Glen Etive just a short drive away. It was lovely to come home after a day out and relax in front of the open fire. Having 2 sitting rooms was perfect - one for the kids and their X Box and one for adults and their peace and quiet! We also went to Fort Augustus for a flat and easy cycle ride one day too - beautiful along the canal. Loads to do in the area, and we also squeezed in some ice skating in Inverness. Lovely cottage - very homely, cosy and comfortable."

"The cottage is perfectly located, very cosy and comfortable with everything you need for a real get away from it all holiday. Newtonmore is a wonderful village with very helpful and friendly locals and the nearby walks through the glen and alongside the river and gorge are spectacular. Great days out were on the doorstep or within a 90 minute drive with amazing scenery wherever you go. It was my 50th birthday and Diane and Rod very kindly gave me a bottle of fizz and extra dining chairs as we had friends over for dinner one evening.....this was above and beyond and extremely thoughtful. We cannot wait to go back. The roll top bath is a very special treat too. Loved every second and miss being there very much."

"Nice building and location let down by a lack of maintenance and poor equipment, Windows that would not open including a bathroom one a bedroom window jammed slightly open, frosted double glazed units, wobbly toilet seat, broken kitchen chairs, wobbly coffee table, broken dishwasher, leaking washing machine, leaking kettle, gas hob no ignition spark, sink plug chains detached, poor quality bedding/ mattresses and towels and the list can go on!There was no Welcome/ information pack, no upto date safety certificates and the guest visitors book had it's pages ripped out. No outdoor seating equipment except for 3 old plastic chairs for a party of 10. Overall very disappointed."
