What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Hastings To Rent.

"The location was bad; in a dark alley, lots of dog poo, a fenced off derelict building site opposite, flocks of pigeons to the back (including a dead one caught in netting that the others were then pecking) so that you wouldn't want to open the bathroom window in case some of them came in, 3 large bags of rubbish from the last guests in the very small kitchen on our arrival which we had to arrange to have picked up (there was no outdoor space at all for it), 2 of the 3 front windows were broken so that they couldn't be opened, 1 of the bannisters was hanging off which is quite frankly dangerous, it was very rowdy on a Saturday night with fighting, shouting etc and someone having a wee right outside the door. The bedrooms were very comfortable and overall it looked nice and was clean but it was not a relaxing holiday and we would not stay there again. This is the first time we've felt like this about a welcome cottages holiday."

"The cottage is absolutely superb. It has been done up to a very high standard at considerable expense. It is very clean and facilities are excellent. it is well located in the old town which is quirky with plenty of places to eat.The problem is the old part is small and we found the rest of Hastings tatty and unpleasant - rather like Stockport by the Sea! You need to drive out to the Rye area to escape. From the cottage point of view we would love to return if only it was in a different town. That coupled with the daily parking charge of £8-40 will put us off coming again. Lovely cottage though."

"Location is in run down street and parking is difficult, although we found the best place by the end of our stay- at the fishermens market- £3 for 24 hours. It was clean and attractive inside with a high standard of furnishings. The kitchen was good. It needs some little jobs done on the door catches and a tap which is very difficult to turn off. We could not keep the toilet door closed because of the door catch. Log stove is not easy to operate or maintain a fire for very long. We did manage something because we are used to lighting a fire every day at home."

"there was a real problem with parking and the cost of this and saying to park more or less a mile away did not sit comfortable with us there were one or two issues with the inside of the house the main one being that the bannister an the first floor was damaged to what i considered a bit dangerous i did email the owner reporting this and a few other maters we had when we arrived his response was quick and the majority of items were sorted out within the hour but not the bannister and was the same even when we left"

"Excellent cottage to stay in if you're off to Hastings. In the old side of town there's loads of character inside and outside of the property. The rooms are well done out with lots of quirky design making it feel very homely. We would definitely stay there again. The only down side, and it's not the fault of the property at all, just a symptom of old houses and even older roads is there isn't any parking at the property however with just a couple of minute walk to the costal car park it's no issue really."
