"Absolutely lovely cottage. Extremely well equiped and very clean. Lovely welcome pack of scones, cream, jam, bread, butter, milk, plus doggy treats, for which we were all very grateful. Pippa went out of her way to welcome us and our dogs and nothing seemed too much for her.The bed was very comfortable and the wool duvet and pillows were a treat, as was the lovely crisp cotton bedding. There is a lovely fenced off area at the back, which was safe for our dogs but they weren't too keen on walking the gravel. The cottage is set in a very rural area with fields all around.....with lots of sheep in, which unfortunately didn't suit our dogs as they just wanted to bark at the sheep. They are used to cows in the fields near our home and we weren't sure what they would be like around sheep, but this didn't spoil our stay as we used the cottage as a base and drove to the coast each day.Thank you so much to Pippa for a lovely stay."

"S19152 is an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of inner city life. The cottage is tastefully decorated offering a perfect home from home feel with an excellent kitchen and exceptionally comfortable beds. The enclosed garden is perfect for dogs and has the added bonus of an array of birdlife. Most nights we fell asleep to the hooting of owls and awoke to woodpeckers. Although very remote it did not 'feel' isolated, in fact, the property was so comfortable and comforting 'like your favourite blanket'. The cleanliness and warm welcome from Maria was lovely - the scones were a delicious welcome gift washed down with a perfect cuppa. The ponds on the property and the field offered a quick walk and run for the dog before lying down in front of the wood burner for the night. If you want a perfect getaway I would highly recommend a visit. We will definitely return."

"Fantastic cottage in great location. Easy to explore Dartmoor and the north and south coastlines of Devon. Cottage is extremely dog friendly and is very well equipped throughout. Lots of basic storecupboard food items makes self catering very easy to do. The welcome basket of complementary scones, jam, bread, cream, butter and milk was amazing and went down a treat after a long drive. Such a wonderful cottage to return to each day after plenty of walking and exploring with our dogs. Pippa is a great host. We left our dog leads behind by mistake.....she called us and very kindly posted them home to us the same day! I am absolutely certain that we will be returning again soon and would whole heartedly recommend S19555 to anyone looking for a relaxing break cuddled up in front of the fire and/or active outdoor adventuring. Just book it! You won't be disappointed!"

"The cottage was everything we needed for the two of us to enjoy a few days walking up on the moor and enjoying local National Trust properties. The bedroom with its delightful high ceiling, overlooks a stream with ducks and some chickens in a nearby garden. The bed is very comfortable and the shower in the generously sized washroom can be set to be powerful. Downstairs the cottage has been tastefully designed to provide everything we needed for our stay.We also enjoyed sitting out on chairs beside the stream at the end of the day..The parking place is very near the cottage and easy to use.Everything was just as we wanted, and we hope we get a chance to return."

"A very individual cottage with lots of interesting detail inside and on view outside. The upstairs was spacious and comfortable, as well as being light and airy. The TV and DVD player need a bit of attention, though to be fair this was only a minor irritant and can be easily sorted. The patio style garden is a real delight, given the right weather. It gets plenty of sunshine and is ideal for an early evening (ok - late afternoon) drink. The owner lives next door and was quick to deal with the one minor issue that we had. She also provided a cream tea to greet us on out arrival. Overall an ideal base for visiting family in Plymouth."
