What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Angus To Rent.

"A relaxing visit. The cottage is good enough, but for the money there are others that offer much better facilities. The heating is either from the open fire, or convector heaters that cost a lot to run. The hot water is from an immersion heater. The added cost of electricity on top of the rental price is a sore point with some guests, judging from comments in the visitors book. The access road is very rough in places. Be prepared to drive in first or second gear for a mile or so! There is NO internet or mobile phone signal at the cottage. You need to drive about 5 miles, or climb up the hills nearby, to get a signal. On a positive note, if you want peace and quiet, (apart from the sheep and occasional cows) and enjoy open countryside where you don't see another person for a week, then this is the place."

"This is a superb holiday home with plenty space for up to six people staying. It is by far the quietest holiday home I have ever stayed in - with superb views across open countryside on all four sides. The pictures do not do justice - it is spotless with furniture of great quality - kitchen is modern in both units and appliances, suede leather three seater, two seater and single seater - all lazy boy style, bedrooms are big - two doubles and one twin - doubles upstairs with shared toilet/shower room.Within striking distance of walks in the Angus glens, trip down to Dundee - check out the V&A museum just opened, or even a bit further to enjoy St Andrews.Staying here was a joy - on the working Lour farm - peaceful, quiet, well-presented and spacious - highly recommended."

"What an awesome setting and absolutely ideal as an escape from the madding crowd. No phone signal and no wi fi make this perfect. Our 2 teenage kids got used to this surprisingly quickly. Bob is on hand to ensure all is well and you settle in perfectly . The nearest pub is 6 miles away but well worth the drive . The Glen Isla hotel is well worth a visit . The setting of the cottage is sublime . The hot tub is perfect. There are plenty things to do whilst winding down Well worth a visit and thanks must go to Bob for allowing us to stay at his cracking cottage. It ain’t full of modern amenities but that is the charm so please don’t change Thanks Richard"

"Wonderful holiday, great location with superb views and total quietness - not everybody's choice as one has to travel a bit to get anywhere but just as we wanted.Farmhouse extemely comforatble and well equipped - Anne in the office so helpful - particular touches noticed were the welcome pack of milk, cakes, jam and flowers and efficient removal of the appropriate recycling or waste bins each Friday. Also the insistence that nothing was required of us at our departure - just have breakfast and go! We treated the farmhouse as our own and trust it was left in a tidy condition. We would definitely like to come again and would recommend to others. "

"We had an adventure as we arrived on the day the Beast from the East hit the country and we found ourselves and two spaniels marooned for a week expect for a short break in the storm midweek which allowed a visit to Arbroath to stock up at Morrison’s. The central heating was first class and the wood fire very cosy and cheered us up in the evenings. The World indoor Olympics was on that week which was a bonus and I got inspired by the winter scenes through the large picture windows and painted the views. The dogs were happy (with coats on) sniffing and exploring the well fenced garden. Excellent all round.will be back in better weather."
