"My biggest disappointment is that this complex of about 14 or more barn extensions which have been newly built, have not been made accessible for disabled people. This made me quite sad in this day and age, it would not have cost anything for the access to have been ramped rather than building one step up into the accommodations as they have. Their response was it is not advertised as disabled friendly, which is quite hurtful to be alienated like this. Once you are in the building it would have been totally accessible then. Also outside there was no drop kerb to get from the accommodations to some of the facilities such as the laundry or the shared garden areas, which could have been easily done, especially at the step of the laundry which has now caused a water logged area directly into the laundry. A drop kerb could have meant that we could access the accommodation through the bedroom at least. Shame no consideration was given in the build for disabled people and young families. There were at least two of us wheelchair users in the complex at the time also families there with prams, who would have found the access valuable. The barn style accommodations were nice, fitted out with Ikea and rooms clean and spacious. Just the towels could have been cleaner. The grounds are being developed around the farm, there are peacocks that were very beautiful, but not so lovely when they are calling throughout the night and your getting little sleep. So if you are ill or need sleep something to consider. Was difficult to find the complex as no sign posts and had to knock on several doors etc. We were not sent an access code etc as gated entrance so stuck outside for a long time. Would stay there again. Nice play area for children on site. Dog charge expensive especially when you have two to pay for and they don't cause very much cleaning. It also states dogs free of charge but this is not the case once you book. The farm is elephant grass farming so not suitable to take your dogs in those fields, quite muddy. There is a normal field adjacent to the buildings."

"The Garden Cottage is wonderful and we'll certainly look to return if staying in that area again. A lovely modern two floor detached building behind the main (owner's) property, there is ample secure parking in a graveled parking area (lit on a sensor in the evenings) accessed via the private driveway running past the main house - you can park within a few feet of the front door. Key-safe is on the wall next to the front door containing the two sets of door keys. Nice peaceful lawn/garden and patio area at the rear of the building. Owners provided useful information in advance via phone/email and in person were warmly welcoming and available for assistance throughout the stay (though no help was actually needed) but kept to themselves and did not impose.Bedroom (comfy bed) and bathroom are downstairs with kitchen / lounge / breakfast bar upstairs, which is unusual, but works well. Immaculately clean, tastefully laid out, fitted, furnished and decorated. Useful and easy to follow folder of information on using the heating and cooking equipment and local amenities. Particularly loved the additional touches of providing a loaf of bread with butter-spread and chilled bottle of Prosecco (the latter of which was very welcome after long drive). Also utilized the DVDs and board games in the evenings. The only elements it lacked (which can't be helped and were not of concern to us anyway) were that it was not in scenic surroundings - so no stunning views - and the building itself is plain and functional. In all important aspects, however, 10/10."

"I would firstly like to start by saying a big thank you to Sykes Cottages Ltd for the first class service in finding and searching for the right property that we needed for all our needs it was easy from start to finish . My Second big thank you is to the Owners of The Dower House , we had an amazing time staying there from the day we arrived to the sad day that we had to leave . The house was unbelievably clean and every possible item you needed for your stay was there from kitchen utensils to fresh bread and home made cake left on the kitchen counter for our arrival. The home made cake was sublime and went down well with afternoon tea . We had a fabulous stay close to all the areas we wanted to visit and far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city . We enjoyed every part of our stay and on arrival the owner Jason was there to great us and show us around nothing was to much trouble . We only had one small comment to make about the house .That in the down stairs bathroom maybe a handheld shower could be fitted to the existing over head fixed shower just for the easy access for the disabled but this is just an observation defiantly not a criticism . Many thanks to the owners of The Dower house for a fabulous stay and we hope to be back again soon . Jonathan ."

"We were extremely impressed with our stay at Dower House. The accommodation was immaculate, and unusually for other accommodations we have rented, also had all those little things in place that are often lacking. There was also an unexpected welcome pack on our arrival with bread, butter, coffee and home made lemon drizzle cake. The owners made us feel very welcome on arrival, but also gave us our independence which was appreciated. With three on suite bedrooms, two of which can be configured into twin or super king beds, the accommodation is flexible to equally support an adults only stay, or a larger family. We would have liked to have used the outside seating areas and barbeque, but the UK weather on our stay did not allow, so we had to make do with using the wood burner (which nicely supplemented the underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators upstairs). We enjoyed our visit very much and intend to stay again in the near future."
