"We had an excellent new year holiday at the S73829 in the grounds of Newstead Abbey. We were a family group of 8 people and the property was ideal for our requirements. The location is excellent with plenty to do in the surrounding area. We visited the Major Oak at Edwinstowe, Nottingham and Southwell Minster. The size of the property was perfect with plenty of room for our group to spread out in the different areas of the house. The kitchen is well equipped and we had several meals for 8 which we were able to accommodate. We were very impressed with the attention to detail in the house and the quality of the furniture and fixtures. Our grand children were also very impressed with the visiting peacocks and enjoyed feeding them each morning. Obviously being winter there was a limit to how much we used the garden area. However its easy to imagine how pleasant this would be at warmer times of the year. A very big thank you to Malcolm and Steve who did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The welcome hamper was very much appreciated along with their advice and assistance when needed. We very much hope to visit the S73829 again at some stage in the future."

"Stayed here for a long weekend with my sister-in-law & her dog. We wanted to get away from it all catch up & just chill & here it was perfect. Our hosts Karen & her daughter Kate were really accommodating (they let us check in earlier than planned) and there was tea making facilities & homemade cake waiting for us on arrival. They took time to show us around the property & where everything was & said they would be happy to show us around the farm (a working beef farm) if we liked.Although we were only a party of 2 & a dog, it was really spacious (even if there had been 4 of us we would have been fine). It was great that both bedrooms were en-suite with showers - really practical. The lounge/kitchen/diner was also large & well equipped, but we were told just to ask if there was anything else we needed. Although we were quite happy we would have felt quite comfortable asking as Karen & Kate were very approachable & friendly. We would definitely come back & bring more of our family with us."

"This is a quality facility. It is as good as any 5 star hotel. The S73829 is an excellent location for any family retreat. The historical background of the Abbey makes this site very attractive. Every thing about it is outstanding. The facility for a group of eight is very comfortable. One of the outstanding features is the outside area. The yards and gardens, which are well maintained, provide opportunity for being outside. The interior room sizes are more than adequate. The arrival food package was not expected, but offered an unusual welcoming surprise. Shortly after our arrival, Steve our host, was there to see if we had any questions or need any help. I would recommend the S73829 to everyone."

"We loved our time at the S73829. We chose it for our Xmas break (2017) and it was perfect for our family - two couples, my elderly mother, a teenager and a toddler. The house was really like a home from home, with all the equipment you would expect to find to have a relaxing break. The bedrooms were comfortable, and we liked the extra touches like toys and games for the kids, the Wii, the laundry room and beautiful welcome pack. It was great cooking our Christmas Day meal in the AGA! We enjoyed strolling in garden, down to the water and over to the Abbey. The owner was accessible and friendly and I’ll never forget being greeted by the gorgeous peacocks as we ate breakfast. We would definitely book again."

"Converted semi detached barn/bungalow on a friendly working farm. Excellent welcome from the family, which included brownies, eggs and milk, which were much appreciated. Thank you! Short drive into the village of Sutton where we enjoyed a tasty meal at the Lord Nelson (booking essential), but at half an hour’s walk, we felt it was too far with a baby in a pram.Living room dining/kitchen area of the accommodation was a single space, but we only stayed for a weekend and it served us adequately. Three ensuite bathrooms was a major bonus and I can recommend for this reason alone. Beautiful countryside with lots to do in the area. We will return in future without a doubt."
