"I have been to many log cabins before and although the S112354at weston Wood lodges was the most expensive I have been to, (£700 for the week) it was also the most underwhelming! Ill start with a slight positive, the reception staff over the phone were very friendly and kind, allowing us to arrive slightly earlier to check in as the cabin was ready, although we was waiting 45 mins for receptionist to arrive back on site to actually check us in. Once we arrived at our cabin, we walked straight into a dark kitchen, although it was clean and tidy, already we had the impression that this cabin would be less luxury and more standard. Through to the main part of the cabin, with its woodchip walls and 80s style internal doors, the positive being the sofas were luckily very comfortable and the curtains were much more fashionable, the dining room table was so light and cheap looking and 1 of the double glazed windows only had 1 panel of glass and the frame being bodge job fixed with plastic covering the gap, this caused serious condensation on the window throughout the week. The bathroom had a shower cubicle, (again quite dated although a nice shower head) toilet, sink and very wonky blind. The bedrooms were basic but with comfy beds, good storage and cream carpets, we later found when moving the bed to create some space for our travel cot, there was a few spots of black mould behind the bed, 1 bit quite close to where our head would be. There was plenty of towels, toilet roll, plates and bowls but limited cutlery, cleaning equipment (no hoover, brush or even dustpan, 2 black bin bags to last the week etc) and glasses, we ended up going out to buy more as not enough for our party of 5 adults and 3 kids(2 toddlers). The cabin had a dishwasher although after day 1 we realised it would be much easier to hand wash as the dishwasher hardly cleaned the dishes we put in. The TV was also on the blink most of the week, only showing certain channels without any flashing. The boiler was set to come on at 9am and turn off at 10pm, a note was on the boiler cupboard door stating we could not touch the boiler, so with 2 toddlers up at 6am,it was quite cold until the electric fire had chance to warm the room. Then the deposit... £100 on arrival, returned the day you leave by bank transfer, not a problem but still chasing this payment 2 weeks later , however there were numerous signs around the cabin stating reasons you could risk loosing your deposit if you didn't comply, my understanding is a deposit is for incase of loss or damage, not if noise persists after 11pm or you open the cupboard door to the boiler... The hot tub was lovely and warm by day 2 and was a nice addition to the cabin. The site was tidy and well maintained with a nice large grass area and the few staff you saw across site seemed friendly. Good location for day trips or pub afternoons. All in all I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend for the price we paid but our holiday was what we made it, the cabin was generally clean and furniture comfy (other than the table & chairs) it just lacked the lovely luxury you would expect"

"I was looking forward to going somewhere not to far away but when we got there the staff mainly the manger was talking to me like I just entered the army, ‘do I make myself clear’ ‘do you understand’ in a controlled sturn manner I thought she was going to ask to drop and give her 20 at one point!! the manger wasn’t very nice if I didn’t answer a question quick enough I got ‘well?’ ‘Yes? No? Yes? No?’ ‘You going to answer?’ asked me to fill form out as I was I could hear them slagging about other staff I felt awkward and was embarrassed, the lodge wasn’t the greatest it was all stone floor and was quite cold no rugs or anything and they don’t have the basics eg cheese grater, and others, gardeners are always around you feel like you can’t go in the hot tub in the day because he will jump out of nowhere, a man checks the hot tub daily too but he comes round whenever he want, so no set time so again you can’t really go in the hot tub in the day just in case he hasn’t been round, plus sometimes he check it twice other once a day sooo messed up andfor some reason they empty the hot tub every time someone had been (isn’t that what the chemical are for) so it didn’t heat up for a day so that was wasted that day was. not very happy over all NEVER COMING BACK!!! AND I WOULDNT RECOMMEND IT!!!!"

"A family for 4 stayed in Lodge 5 for 1 week. We were greeted with an unpleasant odour, abit like wet laundry that had been in the washing machine for far too long. The place looked like it could have done with a hoover and the sofas looked very worn, had some dark stains and could have done with a clean. We did not have one good night's sleep as the beds were very lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom is desperately in need of a good, thorough clean plus the shower is very small. The towels, quilt and duvets looked like very cheap and old, like they could also do with replacing. Considering the number of guests they cater to, they should change these items more often. The hot tub was the best thing about the stay but it was under a tree which resulted in many leaves and insects on the decking and some got in the tub too. The lodge has cobwebs on the outside and is in need of some maintenance as well as a deep clean. Considering the high price that was paid for the lodge, you would expect much better. It was not good value for money... a very disappointing experience. Would not visit again and would not recommend."

"This is a fairly new and upcoming site. No real entertainment facilities on site so perfect for a totally relaxed chilled get away. There is no wifi and the kitchen needs to have more plates and cutlery in etc, only 5 dinner plates for a 6 person lodge. We were impressed with the size of and space in the lodge. Also thank you for the complimentary bottle of chilled wine. There were a lot of flies around (annoying) as you are opposite a fishing pond.Hot Tub: Not all of the jets and lights were working. We did mention this and were told only one side of the jets come on at a time? However one side of the jets didn't work at all. The hot tub is maintained around 10am everyday and is ready for use when you arrive. Overall we enjoyed our stay but feel that it is slightly overpriced compared to other locations with more facilities on-site"

"Our biggest problem with the accommodation was that although the lodge (caravan) was brand new it was incredibly flimsy in construction with paper thin walls and creaky floors. The kitchen was fabulous but I think the money would’ve been better spent on the bedrooms, which were tiny, incredibly noisy and the single beds were not really big enough for adults. I did not sleep at all during my stay so did not feel at all rested following our break. I’ve also never stayed in a lodge that doesn’t even supply soap in the bathrooms. The van was poorly equipped with only 1 towel per person (for 5 days!), not enough crockery for 6 people, not enough toilet paper, no washing up liquid, etc. Also the only place we’ve stayed that didn’t have WiFi. The rest of the Park was a building site and was noisy/ untidy. Shame, the people were lovely."
